Do you think we have control over our actions or that everything we do has already been determined by some other force, such as a higher power?

The more I learn, the less I believe in free will. People should still be held accountable for their actions though, and this isn't an excuse to do evil (or watch dubbed anime)

I don't. I believe our decisions caused by a long series of events which affect our subconscious, so even the most minor influences cause a chain reaction affecting us as a whole and likewise even our most minor actions are caused by this endless chain, we perceive ourselves as indeed having control over our actions however this is not true as everything that happens right here and now has been written since the beginning of time.

As long as I'm able to control my thoughts, it can be said that I have free will. Though my past experiences certainly provide a framework for them, I don't think it's constrictive enough to say that they truly control my thinking.

We do decicions that our genetic programming is telling us to do. We have no free will but we are in a way smart programs that we can do choices between different options. But still we have no absolute free will.
