to come into a restaurant with a party of 25-35 people, without calling ahead to make sure that the restaurant can handle that many people? is it also rude to get mad when your large party is turned down at the door because there's only one cook and a one server on the floor and they can't handle that many people along with the other customers that come in.

this happened last night, and it's happened at least 3 times this year alone. only on one occasion were we able to take the large party because it was early enough for there to multiple servers on the floor.

i don't understand why calling the restaurant ahead of time is such a hard thing to do but w/e im not them im sure they have their reasons i guess.

anyways, what do you guys think? is it inconsiderate or not?

i guess i should add- the act of being on the floor basically means being clocked in for those who dont know.

honestly they definitely should have called ahead. it wouldn’t be so bad if it was just an honest mistake, but getting mad isn’t good.

It would be considerate to call ahead of time and let them know, because it's really not that hard to do.

At the very least you shouldn't get mad if the restaurant can't accommodate your entire group at your whim. Calling beforehand would be a good way to make sure you don't have to make a useless trip there.
