So those new cameras...

Some of the missions and mini-games in the original trilogy would have a fixed isometric camera angle that follows Spyro to prepare the player for incoming enemy attacks. You fail a few times before memorizing the pattern. The remake now has a free camera for some of the escorts in Fracture Hills and protecting Nancy from those hockey players and it's weird. It's especially confusing when Bentley has to hit the moles because of how disorienting it all is.

Ironically, most of the boss fights in Spyro 2 and 3 now has cameras fixed to the bosses so you can aim manually anymore or see incoming hazards. I'm not sure why the developers thought swapping over camera uses was a good idea but the boss fights aren't as fun as they were in the original titles.

At the very least, if they're not gonna patch up the cameras for the boss fights, they should at least fix Sgt. Byrd's level because when you go through the lava tunnels, it's fixed upwards so you can see when fire comes out of the walls. I can tolerate weird and stupid uses but this is simply bad.

"This game needs a patch pronto" is probably the biggest thing to be said about a lot of content here. Subtitles, YOTD being unstable, Gnasty's Loot glitch, motion blur. I wanted the Switch version but not so it would be objectively better than launch...

Hopefully that'll be the case. I wanna see the Switch version being better optimized without the need of a large patch and with all the DLC included if Toys for Bob has plans to.

I particularly do not like the boss camera in Spyro 2. When fighting Gulp, it always zooms right in on Spyro while circling around Gulp.

The camera was also a pain in the Ripto fight. Didn't have those problems in the original game.

Fought Crush yesterday, everything seemed to work fine and the camera was controllable enough to pan around the arena.
I’ll let you know after I’ll fight Gulp, though, since that battle has a lot more going on at the same time.

I do have to say that I’ve always felt like the camera was fixed to the boss during the second and third games’ battles, even though it was actually probably fixed to the center of the arena.
I’ve always felt like that was ideal, though, since most of what you have to worry about comes directly from the boss itself, and I’ve never felt the need to look around at all.

That Sgt. Byrd’s choice is downright terrible though, honestly hope they’ll let you have free camera for those areas in a future patch.

From what I've seen, the camera angle they used for Bentley is absolutely terrible for the Crystal Islands whack-a-mole mission. You can hardly see the moles at times. The camera angle they used for the Sheila missions in Spooky Swamp is dumb too.
