Pokémon Detective Pikachu Trailer

I'm in two different minds about this. On one hand the prospect of live action Pokémon gives me that child-like giddy feeling where I can't wait to see all the Pokémon I love; on the other I just can't stop thinking about how weird and out of place this is.

I’m really excited! It seems like this movie will show us what a realistic Pokémon world would look like, which I’ve always hoped to see. I’ve wanted a live action Pokémon movie for years, I’m super happy that it’s actually going to happen!

I actually think it looks really good, if they had gone with the more traditional cartoony style i think it would have looked way too out of place. The fact you can see giant balloons of the original designs at one point is really neat because it shows the game and anime style is just a cutesy rendition of hyper realistic creatures irl in their world, like comparing scooby doo to an actual great dane.
