We had the zodiac all wrong

Yep, according to the astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society we've had the positions of the stars all wrong by about a month. Also, there's actually an additional constellation that the Babylonians threw out: Ophuchicus, the snake holder. And Libra wasn't even in the zodiac until the time of Julius Caeser.


Here are the real dates according to the astronomers:

Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11
Pisces: March 11-April 18
Aries: April 18-May 13
Taurus: May 13-June 21
Gemini: June 21-July 20
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20

I spent the first 9 years of my life being told I was an Aquarius, then I realized that I'm actually a Capricorn, and now these people are telling me that I'm really a Sagittarius.

Will I ever truly know which of the Sailor Moon characters I match with?

Didn't people say this doesn't apply to astrology for years now and Ophiuchus isn't a zodiac sign - not that astrology has any scientific bearing, but you get what I mean.

Pretty sure I heard this while I was still in high school

and idc im accepting this one because it's more accurate of the actual stars and people from thousands of years ago clearly don't know their ****. seriously, things change as we learn more about them, id prefer not to use an outdated version that isn't accurate. cx

some extra bits of reading regarding the zodiac and whatnot since the original article posted is pretty lacking.

tl;dr it largely depends on which zodiac system is in use.

I act more like a Libra than a Virgo. That and considering how many people say such and astronomers have not accepted it, I'm more inclined to the old Zodiac.

basically capricorn is supposed to be very hard-working, ambitious and loyal to family and friends. though they can be perceived as cold and overly serious by people who don't know them well.
