I remember when I saw a false widow in my room once. It was like 2AM and I was playing some videogame whilst listening to Sabaton, then suddenly, this giant (highly poisonous) spider came out of nowhere. I chased it down the hallway and eventually killed it, with Blood of Bannockburn playing in the background as I mercilessly beat the everloving **** out of it.

ants and bees are so fascinating, so i'd consider them my favorites. though beyond observation and actual interaction almost all bugs are nuisances — except butterflies, who stay in their own ****in' lane. mosquitoes and all other parasitic insects definitely can go **** themselves though.

Golisopod is awesome, I had one called Infernus that carried my whole team for most of Moon.

Venemoth as worst I disagree with, didn't ATV Toxic a Dragonite to death once? Besides, ATV is a disciple of Helix, and therefore is sacred.

A "bug" is an insect belonging to the Hemiptera. Insects are not all bugs.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemiptera

I'm directing this mainly at everyone saying that spiders are not bugs, which they are not, but many other insects which people consider bugs, including those which are named in this topic, are also not "true bugs."

The term "bugs" has been misused for a long, long time, and if you consider an ant a bug, then one could just as easily call a spider a bug.

Really, the term "bug" is widely misused. There are a lot of groups of insects, but not all are bugs.

To participate in all insects (not just "true bugs"), I guess butterflies or ants?

If your favorite bugs aren't bees then you are a failure

  • They look cute yet are cool at the same time.
  • They also have a really clever operating system, making them seem more intelligent and adding to their cuteness.
  • Honey and the underrated honeycomb is delicious.
  • Important for our survival with pollination.
  • There's a huge misconception that bees are agressive like wasps yet this is not the case. Bees are largely passive towards humans and again, important to the ecosystem. Wasps are just pests and **** them but that's another topic.
  • Naganadel and Rumor Honeybottoms.

Bees are my favorite animal in general other than cats. I used to have a serious phobia of them as a kid but it started fading away into mostly discomfort and now I ****ing love them. They're so cool but ingenious and that's cute and mannn honey and everything they provide us with is so good.

I also don't understand the tremendous fear of spiders. Discomfort or sometimes being spooked by them I get, but not the humongous phobia. M8 I live in Australia which does have as many spiders as people say and I can tell you that they leave you alone if you leave them alone. That's all most spiders, and probably any spider you will find and kill, want. Like bees they are, though not to the same extent, generally passive to us and surrounded with the misconception that they will attack humans... Look at how they trap prey. Aside from that spiders are also incredibly important to us. Without them we would be overrun by insects, something massively underrated about spiders. They also look pretty ****ing cool. P. Metallica is my favorite spider it has Metallica in its name I think we can all agree that means we love it

You probably guessed but wasps I really hate because they're just pests and are agressive and hurt the reputation of bees. Silverfish are also one of the rare thing I'm squeamish about because I had a bunch in my room at one point and they remind me of earwigs which I do not like but don't know enough about to judge.

Oh yeah

Spiders also ****ing kill wasps

Bedbugs are by far the worst insects in existence. I'm pretty sure those little bastards can actually give people PTSD. Like, other insects might hurt you or kill you, but bedbugs will torture you psychologically.

As for my favorite, I have to say antlions. They're like miniature sarlaccs. I had so much fun as a kid tossing other bugs into the antlion pits in my front yard and watching them get pulled down to their doom.

I also said ants (and butterflies), so I get it.

For me, they are not as gross as some other insects. I don't mind picking them up or handling them. They are not as bothersome, and although they can arch throughout your house, they are simple to rid of.

They are interesting also. They form intricate colonies and tunnels, and they are much stronger than you would ever expect them to be.

There are also many different kinds. Fire, black, carpenter, flying.

They are easily one of the most intelligent insects capable of overcoming major obstacles and taking down prey much bigger than themselves through teamwork. They have a full social structure and capable of building structures despite being so small.

I honestly don't hate any insects. Even the parasitic ones; they have their place in the ecosystem and are the main food source for many animals, like frogs, dragonflies, and cow birds. I dislike them and would rather them stay away from me, and yes, I'll kill them if I find them sucking my blood, but I can't find it in me to hate them. It's not their fault they're born to be parasites.
The insects that genuinely scare me are wasps, hornets, and carpenter ants. Oh, and assassin bugs. I want to avoid pain, and giant ants just freak me out. I don't hate them, though; just keep them away from me.

As for favorites, I love praying mantises, spiders, and bees. I'm scared to touch any of them, the second two being for obvious reasons, but they seem to fascinate me the most.
I also like beetles and grasshoppers, and I occasionally go outside to catch them and let them crawl on me. We have these huge, black grasshoppers around where I live, and they're quite docile when you hold them. Docile, as in, they aren't eager to escape once they've clung to you.
