Sounds to me like Meltan is going on the same road as Popplio.

...

And your evidence for this is... what, exactly? If you're that confident, then I'm sure you can provide me with a link to an official Pokémon Company page stating it's No. 892 in the National Dex. Because I'm not finding anything like that.

In the Pokemon Go Pokedex database we got dex numbers for everything in gen 4, AND Meltan + a mystery 892

To put it in comparison
492 in the dex data is shaymin
from the same part of the data (pokedex data) we got 891 for Meltan and the cry of a mystery 892 pokemon.

You mean the database hosted on GO Hub? The same place that later retracted their claim about Meltan being 891/892 citing this post that explains how Game Freak's asset number system changed starting with Gen VI, so that asset numbers no longer match up to Dex numbers? Like I said before, please show me a link to an official Pokémon Company page that states Meltan is #891. Then you can make snarky comments about drinking salty fans' tears. Otherwise, don't go making brash claims like that. You're already a divisive enough user as it is.

In the Pokemon Go files there is 2 voice files that recently got datamined along with all of gen 4
One for Mon 891
and another for Mon 892

The number for Shaymin's cry is 492 (and before you claim it's alternate form, alternate forms dont change the number)

(I was wrong about it being the "Dex" data but it's not an asset number by ANY means)

If it was an "asset number" then why does the rest of the audio files match the dex perfectly.
HIR Diamond Sparx Gems: 7920
#1915 Posted: 17:08:21 13/10/2018
It is an asset number from the system that Game Freak uses to store the assets of each Pokémon, including forms. Niantic is just borrowing it for GO. Read the Silph Road link in more detail and this one, too, while you're at it. This is the same data numbering system that has all of Zeraora's assets listed as #888, which is not even close to its actual dex number.

#1917 Posted: 19:38:01 13/10/2018
I did. And I already responded to it appropriately that you're being misled. It's also in the links I posted. For the first five generations... Pokémon numbered their assets by National Dex number. Then, starting with Gen VI, they changed it. Genesect's assets were listed as 649... while the first Gen VI 'mon's assets are filed under 701. That 'mon is Furfrou, who isn't even next in the dex after Genesect. Gen VI assets end at 774, with Hoopa. Then, Gen VII assets began at 801, with Mareanie, and went up to 888, for Zeraora. Meltan is then slotted in at asset #891.

So, yes, Shaymin's cry matches, because, back then, Game Freak numbered assets by dex number. But they stopped doing that in Gen VI, so Meltan is not 891. Maybe, by some sheer coincidence, that will be its National Dex number. But you can't say we know its dex number now, because we don't and the evidence backs me up. ¬_¬

My thoughts about this:
1. If the legendaries had master trainers (which I doubt), wouldn't it be cool if the team leaders from Go were the masters for the bird trio?
2. How would a Ditto mirror battle work?
3. If there was a Johto game that had master trainers in, how would a Wobbuffet mirror battle work?
