One of my favourite creators in film has passed away at 77 after an uphill battle against lung cancer last night. While I find Romero's newer films to be less appealing (though not deserving of the flak they get from mainstream critics), I like that he tried to keep with the times, all the while keeping the same formula fresh. There's not many in the horror business who can make such a claim, and hold a strong fandom for 50 years.
Just wondering how you guys feel about the passing away of who I consider to be a legend in film. What's your favourite film of his (doesn't have to be a Of the Dead one either)? Your thoughts on his use of social commentary? Is this even the right place to post this? Who knows. Just thought I'd let y'all know.
EDIT: Derp. Forgot there was a more appropriate forum. If we could move it that'd be grand.
