History of Galanthus
Many ages ago when the world was dark for 18 hours a cycle, and the inhabitants of the world of Galanthus were but simple barbaric tribes, a young man unlocked the secret of the world. An element, Arcanum, met a stone pickaxe in an expedition for resources. Na Nurtu, the reckless man who had struck the indestructible ore, had uncovered it the surface of the earth. A surge of power shocked him, and he was immediately turned to stone from contact with it. Little did his tribesmen know, his spirit became a beacon, and his world was now recognised by the heavenly plane where the Grand Pentoculus sat. Galanthus was given gifts by the Gods, who saw Arcanum and the world it comes from as their best creation. These gifts came in surges: Light, faith, knowledge, guidance.

Races
These races are the major ones, the less populous races include tieflings, kobolds and the like; please PM me if you want to use a race not listed!
Humans - Lead by King Godfrey in Argest. Split into two sister factions; the Kingdom of Inderon and the Magocracy of Eimrarlon. Typically reach adulthood at 18, and live until their 60’s.
Orcs - The Orcs are either under the watchful eye of Chieftain Mem‘buzh of the United Clans, or have pledged allegiance to their own designated tribal leader. Typically reach adulthood at 16, and live until their 40’s.
Elves - Following no leader except their Elder, elves are a free people, unless they are city-born. Typically reach adulthood at 20, and live until their 100’s.
Dwarves - All Dwarves, whether hailing from hill, mountain or underground, tend to listen to the preachings of Lord Grerr, who is more of a chancellor placed by King Godfrey than a leader himself. Typically reach adulthood at 18, and live until their 70’s.
Gnomes - These low-statured people like to gather in small groups, acting as a cultural sponge of whichever society they integrated themselves into. Typically reach adulthood at 16, and live until their 50’s.
Halflings - While scaling taller than the gnomes, halflings often find themselves falling very… short of humans. Their ideals are to drink and be merry, and often preach the lifestyle that Dattbo’ie, Lady of Alcohol and Recreation sees as the only way to live. Nothing will stop a halfling that has an ambition. Typically reach adulthood at 18, and live until their 60’s.
Tundrelves - A clan of elves who live in the wintery north-west areas of Galanthus, in a settlement known as Astis. Lead by Lady Castiela, ‘The Ice Queen’, they are a race of culture and much more open to difference than their woodland cousins. Not wanting to be chained by the aggressive control of the humans, they fuse most outside contact and are a very independent people. Their skin is usually a light shade of blue or a white, and their hair is nearly colorless with a tint of another color. Typically reach adulthood at 20, and live until their 100’s.
Ondine - Following the kindly ways of the gorgeous and noble Nerwe, the Ondine are found wherever the current can be. If their settlement is not under the ocean surface it is found near a body of water. Typically having hair of vibrant colors and skin of dark browns, greens and blues, they can breathe both air and water and can shift their legs into gorgeous scaled tails at will. Typically reach adulthood at 19, and live until their 100’s.

¿¿¿¿ what the hecky is an rp ????

Name: Laeva Himing
Age: 25 years
Gender: Female
Race: Ondine
Class: Pugilist
Weapons and Abilities: Two fists, two feet, and the power of pessimism
Personality / Ideals: Laeva is a young Ondine lady who just wants to have a good time. Though, when her definition of a 'good time' is fist-fighting for money, it's hard to legally find said good times. Brawling with people is her favorite pass-time! She has aspirations with her hobby of fist-fighting strangers. She loves to play the 'hero' and save the innocent from abusers, thinking herself a strong and swift vigilante-justice type. She loves to be praised for her fighting capabilities - which are admittedly quite good - and finds her pride easily wounded by mockery. Laeva's only saving grace in such situations is a solid hold on her emotions, which she has practiced ability in keeping under control. She usually has a neutral or sarcastic expression on her face, and her body language often betrays her emotions. A genuinely happy smile is an uncommon sight on her face outside of fights.
The issue lies in her attitude. She tends to be overconfident in her abilities and can come off as arrogant to onlookers. If she's rubbed the wrong way, or her pride is damaged, Laeva has the tendency to be skeptical, pessimistic, and even what some would consider to be fully unpleasant. She'll almost never back down from a fight, and takes convincing to run from a lost battle.
Background: (i'll get to this later since u dang impatient)
Appearance: She's 4'10" and weighs 110 lbs.
[User Posted Image]
  • In her true form, her gills are opened and her nostrils close up so she can breathe underwater.
  • In her humanoid form, her gills close up and her nostrils open so she can breathe air with a different set of lungs.
  • Uses her legs more often than her tail, even in water.

Other: Purple is her favorite color. Her fighting style relies heavily on strong punches and Brazilian jiu-jitsu style grappling.

Name: Jericho J. Jormungand
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Class: Necromancer
Weapons and Abilities: Though Jericho likes to trick others into thinking his attire is simply decorative, this is untrue. He greatly treasures his hat, as it holds 5 skulls of pets he once owned before their passing. He owned a hunting dog, a sharp-eyed eagle, a sly ferret, a deadly black mamba, and lastly a trickster cat. He can construct a body for any one of the skulls using his tome of dark arts, which will allow the skull to become a full-fledged undead familiar. He uses his familiars to gain advantage in aspects he may lack - a better view from the sky, slipping between a crack in a wall to unlock a door, sniffing out prey or hidden traps, sneaking and scouting another room, or simply battling strong enemies with deadly venom. His undead familiars can be re-killed or unsummoned - so long as he salvages the skull he can reanimate it when his magic is restored. He can also cast spells that cause flesh to rot and food to spoil, making him a force to be feared by farmers and those who value their limbs. His walking stick is used for walking, which he does often, but the handle also hides a poisoned dagger for emergencies. And, well, the walking stick can be used as a bludgeoning tool if truly required. Jericho can only cast complex spells with the aid of his tome, and constructing a familiar takes a small ritual - the components for which he carries with him at all times - but he is still capable of some minor spellcasting without his tome if he has something(coughlikehiscanecough) to use as a conduit.
Appearance:
[User Posted Image]
Personality / Ideals: Jericho Jamie Jormungand is a nobleman who is obsessed with two things: interesting magical entities and dark magic. He's always had a bit of a knack for such unsavory magicks, and due to his noble birth it wasn't difficult for him to get his hands on tomes and scrolls of forbidden arts. However, he's extremely intelligent and charismatic, leading him to fool others into believing in his innocence. He's obsessed with his looks and loves to surround himself with beautiful things - though his definition of 'beautiful' includes both jewels and taxidermy. His manor is full of taxidermy animals and anatomical models, as well as gardens of black roses and onyx jewelry. Despite his underlying creepiness, he and his family are well-loved by the common folk and other nobility alike. He is of age to marry, but it's unclear if he has interest in taking a wife(or husband) at all - some like to speculate he's already married to his ideals and dreams, and others say he's too in love with his job to even think of a partner. In all honesty, he simply wants the best for himself and wouldn't even think of marrying a mere commoner mortal - nay, if he were to marry he'd want to marry someone truly extraordinary! He has immense interest in angels, demons, genies, elementals, and pretty much any other race that one could consider magically exotic. Any persons who identify themselves as of a race he's interested in are treated well at Jormungand manor, and are considered of high honor regardless of alignment or attitude.
Background: Jericho was born the single heir to his family's name, and as such grew up in a life of attention and excitement. He'd only known the 'soft life' for his entire childhood, pampered and and foot by servants and maids until he reached of age to begin the harsh study of politics and communication. The Jormungand family name was - and still is - well know and respected, and Jericho had high expectations placed on him. Thankfully, he proved skilled in the art of diplomacy and crowd-working, giving several speeches and appearances that solidified the Jormungand family as a trusted, respected name that is looked upon with favor. His father passed away several years ago, leaving him to most of the business of the family name and business, however his mother is still alive and technically is the head of the house.
Other: The Jormungand family gained their riches and status due to the rare, elusive black rose naturally growing exclusively on their land. Because of this, his family's crest is a bundle of black roses with many long thorns.

Name: Amalie Androsa
Age: 25
Gender: female
Race: Ondine
Class: Warrior, going to be duelist.
Weapons and Abilities: Her weapons include a rapier and two daggers which she attempts to dual wield. She has finesse with her weapons, or at least she attempts to.
Appearance: 5’6” and weighs 160 lbs.
[User Posted Image]
Personality / Ideals: Amalie is a rather strange individual. She has little to no real love for other people. However, she does feel passion. Therefore she tends to be a flirtatious person without truly ever becoming attached to her partners.
What emotion she does feel she feels very vividly. She treasures this as a gift from the god of emotion, Paha.
Amalie is a devout follower of Paha and strives to inspire strong emotion within other people. If she has a choice she chooses to inspire feelings of love or passion. However, she is not opposed to inspiring other emotions. With her weapons and intimidation she inspires pain and fear. She may bully a person to inspire anger or sadness. Or she may make merry with someone inspire happiness. So long as a strong emotion is achieved Amalie ultimately believes she has served her god.
Her philosophy on life is a little like walking barefoot. Walk freely, feel the grass between your toes, and if you do end up stepping on something sharp it is simply part of the journey.
Background: Amalie is the daughter of Addai and Caeleah Androsa, two ‘priests’ Paha. Her parents were extremists and had very warped perceptions of who Paha was and what he stood for. Amalie from a young age suffered from anxiety, depression, and night terrors. She tried to ask her parents for help and comfort; however, her parents taught her that those negative feelings she felt so strongly were a gift from Paha.
Amalie grew up with a very warped perception of what a normal emotional state was. Her parents placed her on a pedestal for her distress and she too grew up learning that was how someone was supposed to feel.
As she got older she began to realize that she was even more different to those around her. She was not truly capable of feeling love or attachment. Not her parents, not herself, and certainly not other people. She kept this hidden and began to despise herself for being so badly imperfected. After all, what was wrong with her? She was blessed by the god of emotion and passion and yet she was missing a vital one.
When Amalie reached adulthood she did not follow the priest lifestyle as her parents had. Instead she was determined to spread the blessings of Paha, good and bad, as an adventurer. She took to odd jobs that would place her among people. And she had no qualms with mercenary work.
Eventually, a short while after she turned 25, she would seek out work at a certain guild house....
Other: Amalie enjoys all emotions, especially the intense ones. She can sometimes go out of her way to do what is dangerous in order to feel another high.

Shorty is cooler than jamie.

EDIT: I added in that SICK background bro.

Ok, I think I got characters I like that definitely aren't weird or anything. I typed too much, so I have to split these into two posts. Because of that, I deleted my old post and just made two new ones. Sorry.

Name: Ilselval Reyynore
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Race: Elf
Class: Ranger - Beastmaster

Weapons and Abilities:
Her weapon of choice is a crossbow, as she is cowardly in most combat and will take any chance to distance herself from the battle and flee to a safe location. Her precision with this crossbow is decent in training, though she can tend to become confused with swift moving targets. She can ride a horse, having strong control over the animal and forming a quick bond with horses. She can easily saddle a horse swiftly, and has mounted a dismounted the animal so many times that the act has become second nature to her. She technically has some training in wielding a lance upon horseback, but does not opt to do so in a fight, as it is a sloppy practice at best and definitely would not serve her well in a true fight. She had been seen applying poisons to her bolts, but does this rarely. She does not create her own poisons, however, and purchases them from far more skilled makers.

Appearance:
She is a very slim figured being, with a narrow waist. She stands at 5'11" in height and weighs 145 lbs. Her face is small with a pointed chin and short, but naturally pointed ears, as to be expected of her kind. She has beautiful light-green hair which reaches down to her shoulders, though she has small tufts of hair that dangle in the front over the shoulders themselves. She has fairly light coloured skin, which has various scars flecked throughout it, though none are in dominant or obvious places. Her clothing consists mostly of light browns and jade greens, with the upper half around her chest area holding the prominent jade green and the lower waist, as well as the skirt - which just misses out on reaching her knees - being the brown. She is also dressed in tall boots of a light brown in colour. Her clothing is torn by claws or chewed apart by teeth in certain places, though she has made no effort to fix this. She wears old leaves in her hair, though the reason for his is fully unknown.

Personality / Ideals:
She's an opportunist, seeking any given moment to achieve and further her own existence. However, one must always remember that she always puts herself first. She is not particularly out to assist others, though she is also not seeking to - in a way - make people's lives harder. She is simply looking out for number one. She's particularly fond of bartering with others and can and will debate every single purchase she makes, from large purchases to small and rather meaningless ones. She is the same when selling things to others. She'll try her hardest to get the most money, especially for her dogs. While she had no particular spiritual alignment, she is accepting of the existence of each and every divine being and will be respecting of others choice of worship - though she does tend to try and avoid discussing these sorts of topics, as she finds it can be difficult to debate when you have no preference yourself. She is a spirited and passionate girl in everything she does, particularly animals and the care and raising of them. She can and will step in if an animal is not being cared for properly by its owner and believes all animals small and large deserve proper burials and should be sent off just as any man, elf, etc would be. She can be very argumentative, though, especially when someone disagrees with her opinion, and this can become distasteful to many people as she will stick adamantly to her opinion, refusing to be shifted. She dislikes helping others or being helped and prefers that people do things on their own. She is not a mean girl, just stubborn, and sometimes comes off as standoffish.

Background:
As a kid she owned a single dog, but soon these dogs grew into a thriving and bustling family, passing over generations of mutts and purebreds. While she worked with many other animals, canines were always her favourites. She tweaked her dogs, trained them to fight, and it soon became her life. One day someone asked if a dog was for sale, and she got a small flash of an idea. From that point on, her dogs became a business, trained to fight, sold to those who want defense - though they can be friends too. She traveled to the capital with only Lydia in hand, but with a goal. Show off Lydia, and find interested parties in the rest of the animals she raised. After all, it's all about the sale with her.

Other:
She raises Pharoah Hound looking dogs. She owns a female dog named Lydia, who is the queen of any litters she might own. Lydia holds a dominance over all her pups until they are sold off to a new owner. Her dogs are trained combatants and can be vicious if they are treated wrong or they're owner appears threatened. She is not picky who she'll sell the dogs to, long as they offer well.

Shadow-Cipher Yellow Sparx Gems: 1229
#8 Posted: 15:02:45 05/03/2017
Name: Nero Mannis
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Race: Gnome
Class: Warlock - Necromancer

Weapons and Abilities:
The undead are his weapon, as no weapon would truly feel right in his grasp. He himself does not join the battle, and instead he commands undead to fight for him. He can raise and control both man and animal to do his will - many of his undead are comically larger than he is. His preference usually leans towards animals such as bears or mountain lions. He can only manage one undead at a time, however, as must sacrifice the energy of one to summon another. He owns a short staff topped with a cracked fox skull, but it is no more than a focus for magical energy. He does not melee foes with it, though sometimes he will swing it threateningly if people draw too close to him.

Appearance:
He is a stout man, as many of his kind tend to be. He stands at only 3'3" in height and weighs 40 lbs exactly. He does indeed have a little bit of a belly, but isn't quite overweight yet. He has short, but thick, and very messy hair auburn in colour. He rarely takes care of his hair and it is often very knotted and frazzled. His skin is a little on the tanned side, as despite his hobby in the undead, he does indeed spend a lot of time out in the sun. Some parts of his skin are a trifle red, burned from long-term exposure to sunlight. His clothing choice is fairly simple, as he prefers the classic and likely stereotypical black robes. He almost always wears a hood on his robes, as he dislikes having to deal with taking care of his hair. He ties down the sleeves of his robe with a very thin, almost wire-like rope so they won't flop around in the breeze. His robe is decorated in red trim in a few places.

Personality / Ideals:
He is far nicer than he appears and his practice of dark magic and use of the undead shouldn't be taken as a reason to avoid him. In fact, he quickly becomes defensive if someone stereotypes him as dark and sinister just because of the kind of magic he practices. He is merely fascinated by the cycle of life and death and likes to see how it can be shifted and how it adjusts to any changes suddenly made in it. As such, he uses necromancy to revive beings and see how they integrate with interact with the living, as well as an effective means of self defense. He is solitary, but this does not mean he dislikes people. He is simply wary. If approached, he will interact with others and be friendly and polite while doing so, though he is constantly keeping tabs on what they're doing to make certain they aren't planning on attacking him or taking advantage of him. He prefers people keep a safe distance from him, and his muscles will tense up when someone draws too close. This is simply because he thinks someone might stab him in the back - quite literally - if he allows them to stand close to him. He is prone to swinging his staff at anyone who invades his personal space boundaries. He studies alone out of respect, as he knows many people fear his research and does not wish for his undead studies to interfere in other peoples lives. He can be a great and trusted friend and once he believes someone is true to him, he will defend them to the grave and back, while keeping that safe distance from the danger he always maintains, that is. He is talkative at times and very interested in hearing about other forms of magic. It takes him a long time to trust others, as he has been betrayed before.

Background:
As a child, he always found the cycle of life and death fascinating, but it was the death part of the cycle that he was always most curious about. To him, death couldn't just be the end, and there had to be more to it then that. So he began to work to understand the process and show that death was definitely not a simple end to the cycle. He started with small animals, but soon expanded on to greater beings, larger and more intelligent beings. His life is dedicated to simply studying these arts, and honing the magical skills that he knows for a fact lie within everyone. He visits cities every now and then, mostly to resupply himself, though rarely when knowledge on his necromancy is to be found.

Other:
It is rare that he is without some kind of undead bodyguard, though he will respect cities that do not want him bringing his undead within their walls. He does become increasingly paranoid without protection, though.

I saw "shorty is cooler than Jamie" and was waiting until I had an application to bother typing it, just in case I flaked.

I made a second character. Here he is, Jamie.
--

Name: Everett Lilivinae
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Class: Mage, Going to be a sorcerer.
Weapons and Abilities: Everett uses an umbrella as a staff alongside a handheld mirror, which he uses as a focus. He also uses this mirror to style his fabulously long hair. Aside from that he has a dagger he keeps at his left hip. (He’s a lefty).
Everett’s magic of choice is illusion magic. Tricks of the lights and mind are his forte and he uses it at most opportunities.
Appearance:
[User Posted Image]
Personality / Ideals: Everett has always been a bit flamboyant. Everything he did he had to do dramatically. After all, if you want to impress you have to be big and loud. He has always taken this to heart.
For the most part Everett is a good person. Who does not wish ill on other people, but he’s not opposed to getting his hands dirty if he needs to.
He has a passion for good music, good food, and a grand performance. So long as he can put on a good show he is happy.
Background: Magic, for Everett, has always come as naturally as breathing. Where he grew up as being scrawny and weak in other aspects his magic always excelled. He practiced his skills by himself, making a living as a magician in the sense that he would use tricks to entertain the audience. Despite the fact that he had a good life performing for an audience he felt he was missing something. He packed up and headed to Argest in order to seek a more thrilling lifestyle.
Other: Everett is pretty good at sleight of hand.

Name: Dolmirr Tiramond
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Race: Dwarven
Class: Priest of Oron
Weapons and Abilities:
  • Brass mace, blessed by his commune
  • Brass symbol of Oron
  • Divine magic, prayers of healing and strength
  • Blind fighting, Dolmirr doesn't need to see to strike his target
  • Some minor blacksmithing, stoneworking, and negotiation skills

Appearance: Dolmirr is short and stout, a proud shape of dwarvenkind. His hair is bright ginger hue, long and slightly frizzy, with a thick braided beard that drapes over his slightly rounded stomach. His face is gentle and happy, with a twinkle of mischief in his blue eyes. His priest robes are kept clean and neat, and he proudly wears his congregations holy symbol as a brass medallion around his neck. His mace is always at his hip, yet barely ever used for anything other than ceremonies and blessings, though it has dents and tarnish from a different life.
Personality / Ideals: Dolmirr is a dwarf of honesty and kindness, being a strong icon of leadership among his church and village. Only the Paladins above him have more say than him in his sect, yet they are far enough away from the capital that they barely ever show. He cares for others, from all walks of life, but despises acts of cowardice. He changes to a tougher side around people as such, still understanding but hard headed and tough. His soft face can become quite intimidating if need be.
Background: Dolmirr was born in the far mountains, raised by a tavern keeper and a dealer of exotic fungus. He spent most of his time with his father, serving customers and absorbing the social air of the busy nights. He rarely saw his mother. She was always on the move around lands near and far, hunting elusive and shunned fauna used by private parties as aphrodisiacs, hallucinogens and potent poisons. His father always said that she was the real gold gatherer, the tavern was just a hobby. When she was home, he never left her side, even helping her deliver her goods to happy people. They would always use the cellar of the tavern, and he would be her “handy little gold nugget”. He would carry the things she found and would hold the wood cutter ax and look tough, just like his mother taught him.
It didn't take long for him to grow into her dealings, taking over so she could rest happily at home. He would give every ounce of money he could to his aging family, changing his mothers gentle routine with a brash and loud business. At 16, he was in control of more than fungus, but weapons, muscle, and other things of unsavory nature. The money was good, and his parents were happy and comfortable, far from the mines or ice caps. He was the king of those mountains, until the king of the land his mountains resided on discovered.
A wave of shadows were sent from the capital, almost taking Dolmirr's life and pushed him on the run. His story might have ended on the other side of the country, in a small village built around an old Oron cathedral, but he was quickly taken in by the priests and healed over time. His healing turned from physical to spiritual, looking back on his life and how he had hurt the people of his homeland, and vowed to never go back to that life. He made a new life, joining the church as a friar, serving Oron and his village, repenting for his cowardice and sins of the past.
Other: He may be a tough dwarf, but he has acquired a strong sweet tooth. He often has a pouch of maple candies.

[Shorty is cooler than Jamie!]

Name: Cazadora de Bestias (Cazie for short)
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Race: Elf
Class: Ranger - Archer
Weapons and Abilities: Cazie carries a hunting crossbow and a large machete on her at all times. Her sensory receptors, reflexes, and surivial instincts are all excellent, on par with those of a wild animal's- all the better for hunting. She has yet to meet a beast that could outsmart her.
Appearance: Cazadora stands roughly 5' 10". She has suntanned skin, olive green eyes and unruly brown hair, which she usually keeps tied back in a ponytail. Her body is nimble, but strongly built, usually covered with an animal hide shirt and pants. A necklace decorated with the claws of wild cats she's slain hangs around her neck, her machete lies in a sheath on her belt, and she keeps her crossbow strapped across her back. A dark green silen cloak sits draped across her shoulders.
Personality / Ideals: Cazadora is a firm believer of the survival of the fittest. She'll strike at every opportunity to further herself and leave her competition in the dust. She prefers a solitary lifestyle, but will begrudgingly cooperate with other beings. Tries to avoid letting her emotions impair her better judgement. As such, it's difficult to gain her trust. A sense of personal pride not only keeps her from assisting those "less fit" than her, but also makes her refuse help from other beings.
Background: She had a rough upbringing. Since her parents had abandoned her in the wilderness as a child, she was forced to learn to survive on her own accord. For several years, she lived off the land, armed with little more than a primal instinct to survive. She did manage to find her way back to civilization eventually, but found it difficult to fit in with society, and still does even to this day. She still prefers to sleep outside.
Other: She hates when people call her by her nickname, unless she's formed a bond with them.

[It was a real challenge coming up with a character that wasn't too similar to ones people had already made.]

And thus, we begin. LegendOfZelda, edit your post with your character(s) when they're ready, and then PM me to check them! I just very is ready to set the scene. We won't progress far at all until the players we're expecting to join us.

~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=~-=

You have been staying at CAILIN'S GUILDHOUSE, a very popular inn, famous for two things: Being a fantastic starting point for budding adventurers, and having the best hot pies in Argest. Here, you have been completing odd, fast jobs but nothing major. Most of your 'quests' you have done alone, unless they are escort jobs.

You open your eyes to greet the roof of your room, at varying times during the morning (depending on who you are), to the muffled sound of morning business downstairs and the faintest smell of fermented alcohol. Your bed happened to be of decent comfort, with warm and clean sheets. something very suitable for the price you've been paying for it. As the sun is slowing rising in the east outside, you make your way downstairs into the main lobby.

The main lobby is a large room, seperated by a large mahogany door from the tavern area, near the front of the building. In thematics, it's quite similar; it would simply just look like the room it was next to if not for the long, polished desk in the centre of the room. Several seats (some with tables, some without) scatter the room, and there are a few people already down there.

As you make your way through the door, a rugged blonde man gives you a wide toothy grin. "Mornin!'" Cailin greets you excitedly, before turning his head to tend to paperwork you don't bother to ponder about. You feel it's a good idea to get your assignment for today soon, at least no sooner than directly after getting breakfast. Your ambitions won't be met if you are empty-handed, after all.

OOC: Skyhunter, you are accepted.

After making her way down stairs Amalie surveyed the common room. After spotting the rugged man tending to paper work. She felt herself drawn to him, much as she had with her previous flairs. Amalie smiled and glided over to him. She rested her arm on the nearest surface to him and spoke in a charming voice. "I hope your morning has been as beautiful as you are."

Everett looked perfect, and by the gods did he mean perfect. After spending all morning doing his hair he felt he was truly the fairest person to grace the room. He made his way to eat a grand breakfast. He made a point of bossing the wenches around just to draw the extra attention to himself. He smiled broadly as he hummed a tune and ate his food, today was going to be a good day.

Cailin, a little bit taken aback, took a second before raising his gaze from the letter. "M-me?" he stifled back a chuckle, his glossy blue eyes meeting the younger woman's. He was aging; quite well, to be honest. He was certainly handsome. Putting the feather into an inkwell and getting out of his seat to stand - a man of 6 foot would surely tower over Amalie - "Sweetheart, m' wife and I have been married since probably before you were hatched!" he said before unleashing a very hearty laugh. "Many thanks, though, age has been good to me." he responded with a wink. "What can I do for ya, lass?" he finally asked, leaning forward on the desk and beaming at the girl.

A wench passing Everett took a moment to oggle him, biting her bottom lip in swooning, but other than that Everett's breakfast goes smooth with little interaction. Eyes were certainly watching him as he made his way around the room, and he would most certainly feel the admiration.

Finally she finished wrapping up the bottoms of her feet, flexing her legs to ensure movement was still comfortable. Laeva lifted her hands and stretched, her fins fluttering at her waist and ankles as she felt her joints pop, before getting up eagerly. She'd had a short break in jobs the previous day, and was ready to hop straight back into it. With a skip and a hop she was out the door to her room and on her way to what she expected to be a busy day. Laeva slid down the railing of the stairway into the lobby of the guildhouse, narrowly avoiding knocking a couple people over during her descent. Her webbed feet glided across the railing before she reached the end and hopped off, landing on the ground on nimbly and hurrying on her way. As per usual, she made a scene wherever she went just from how she carried herself.
Laeva swept by the front desk and the two people there with a chirp of a greeting in response to Cailin. Though her face had a perpetual neutrality to it, her intent was genuine. Her red eyes flicked across the room, landing on one of the tavern's staff who seemed to be taking orders from guests. Taking this as an invitation, Laeva slid over to her and sat down at whatever table she was serving. Her eyes traveled over to the table's other tenant, a glowing woman made of flame and wearing a charming dress. After a half-second of sizing her up, as if trying to decide her initial opinion of this flame-woman, Laeva seemed to deem her acceptable and settled into the chair further, explaining "I just want a pitcher of water and helping of whatever sea food you have..." Laeva tilted her head towards the glowing girl as she added, "If it's alright with you that I sit here, that is?" and gave her a very slight smile.

Amalie's smile widened at the man's reaction. So he was married? She spoke in a little less of a flirtatious tone as she replied. "Well, I'm interested in finding some work. You know, the kind that needs a good old fashioned blade to solve. Got any thing interesting?" She asked as calmly and plainly as one could. She had no qualms with asking for violent work.

As Everett continues his meal he feels quite pleased that he is the center of some attention. Although he was not entirely interested in the barmaid it did please him that she found him pleasant to look at. He eyes the job board from his table. He'd have to take a job soon. No matter, he would find something interesting for sure.

Cailin went silent for a short moment, sorting through his papers. "Some kid handed me this this morning," he began, his hands unfolding a crumpled sheet and sliding it in front of Amalie. "Not the yoosh' sorta labor I'd have listed, I just put a notice up, tells y'all ta sign up right here at the front desk."

If you choose to scan the paper he places in front of you, Amalie will learn that there is a young boy from a village about two days south-east of Argest, Lily Grove, who is on an expedition to rid his village of something vaguely called 'a severe issue'. You ponder heavily what this means, but can only assume there will be combat and fighting involved.
As Cailin mentioned, the biggest and most centre job put on the board is labelled "AN EXPEDITION - See Cailin", with small details below similiar to (but a bit more stripped than) the letter Amalie has just read.

"I'm waitin' for a couple people to join before I call the kid in again." he explained, once Amalie shows signs of being finished with her reading.

--

The maiden who Laeva made her order to nods obediently, and returns a few moments later with a pitcher of water, two glasses, raw cutlets from a rainbow trout, Aviv's breakfast (consisting of mostly fruits) and a big smile on her face. A wink towards the two at the table, and she was off.

"An expedition? Sounds interesting!" Amalie exclaimed, after a very brief moment of thought she continued. "How do I sign up?" She asked this in a lighter voice. An expedition certain struck Amalie as being different from other jobs. It could provide chances for adventure, and possibly riches. Although riches were not really the focus of Amalie's interest.

Everett finished his meal. Now he had business to attend to. He stood, brushed out his tunic, and walked over to the board. He scanned the items looking for the one that seemed to most interesting. Someone as fabulous as him deserved a task of worthy proportions.

"Just right on this sheet, sweetheart." Cailin pushed forward yet another sheet, a list of some sort, and pointed towards the 'client quill' he had on the other side of the desk; where Amalie was. His grin hadn't faded until now, and when it did, it did hard. "Gonna hafta let him down if I can't get enough people. Don't wanna do that; kid's got a heart'o gold, I see it in the flare in 'is eyes."
"Just leave the sheet out when yer done, got a few things I gotta take care of out back. See ya later, miss!" He said suddenly, his signature grin returning before exiting out a door unaccessible to the people not behind the desk.

Her face hidden within the hood of her silken green cloak, Cazadora swiftly descended the stairs of the Inn and entered the common room, feeling a bit intimidated by the number of patrons there. She still hadn't been quite accustomed to the social nature of other beings, but it did make sense to her on some level. Some animals gather in numbers to increase their chances of survival, and it clearly works, if the success of society was anything to go by. The wild elf knew she would have to adapt, and in spite of her wariness, she couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity, so she did her best to learn the ropes.
She seemed a little surprised as Cailin greeted her, though this quickly faded. She took note of the person conversing with the innkeeper- an "Ondine", if she recalled correctly. Curiosity took over as she glided up to the counter, shedding her hood and letting her unkempt hair loose. A series of papers adorned the counter. While she obtained a basic understanding of the local language, she still had much to learn, and could only string simple sentences together herself. Tilting her head, she asked Cailin "What is 'expedition'?", pointing to one sheet with bold letters.

Unfortunately for Cazadora, Cailin had left before she approached the desk, most likely to do the business which has to do with the back area of the building, through a door which was unreachable to people unless they climbed over the desk. Even with her limited knowledge of social standards, Cazie feels that it would not be recieved well if she was to hurdle the desk and chase after her answer. Perhaps Amalie will answer?

Laeva gave a soft thank-you to the barmaid before turning her gaze down to her food, pouring herself a glass of water and downing it quickly while the glowing girl spoke. She nodded a little to show she was listening while she ate her food as quickly as manners would allow, eager to fill her belly before her next quest. The girl was curious, and Laeva had to admit she was curious herself.
"It's a pleasure, Aviv," she replied gently, pleased by the friendly tone at the table, "I am Laeva, and I'm fairly new to this city as well. I've come here to help people in whatever way I can, among other things. I heard this place is where many peoples gather to begin careers in adventure and goodwill, so naturally, here I am," she sighed out a bit, slipping another morsel between dagger-like teeth, "My jobs have been a little slow, but I suppose I don't mind them... I just want to have a bigger impact on people's well-being. I'm hoping today's requests will have something different from the usual listings. By chance, is that why you're here, specifically? The jobs, I mean?"
Laeva tilted her head in the direction of the request board where a tall individual looked over his options. She didn't seem to notice him yet, she was just gesturing to indicate what she was referring to.

Amalie turned her head to the elf who approached the desk. She looked them over before giving a coy smile. "Well an expedition is a journey with the potential for adventure and riches -- Though, none of those would be more precious than you." She said smoothly. She motioned to the to the paper explaining the job that Cailin had left. "Details are written here, not that there are many of them. Makes things more interesting."
As soon as she finished speaking she took the quill and began writing her name on the list. After all, who knows what lovely people she'd meet on a grand adventure?

Everett's eyes wandered to the flier about the expedition. Oh? This piqued his curiosity. Expeditions meant chances for fame and glory, and by the gods did he deserve to have his name whispered by fans. his lips pulled into a toothy smile and he made his way over to the desk. Seeing the two people there he continued to strut his way there. "So, who knows about this 'expedition'?" He asked in a melodic voice.

Something about the inflection in the ondine's voice seemed oddly soothing to Cazadora. She'd normally be wary around strangers, but an odd sort of calmness held her in this person's presence. That aside, though, a shadow of a smile appeared on the elf girl's face as the ondine defined 'expedition'. "Adventure... sounds fun..." she spoke softly. While Cazie herself would have no use for riches, she'd take any excuse she could get to go exploring. The thrill of such a prospect was one she was particularly fond of. The other details mattered not to her. She was in.
Cazie waited for the ondine to finish signing her name on the application before taking the quill for herself. She scribbled some chicken scratch that vaguely resembled her name. After which, she looked at the ondine. "M-me Cazadora..." she muttered rather awkwardly, extending a hand as a gesture of friendliness. Shaking hands... an odd way of greeting people, but whatever works, she supposed.

Amalie waited for about half a second before grasping and shaking Cazadora's hand. Her smile turned to a full toothy grin as she spoke. "Cazadora, huh? I am Amalie Androsa." After shaking the girl's hand and introducing her self she gave an inquisitive look. After hearing the broken common she couldn't help but wonder about Cazadora a little. "Do you not speak common well?" She asked rather bluntly.

Everett paused seeing that the two women in from of him were conversing still. He waited a moment before he cleared his throat. "Excuse me, darlings. Maybe you didn't hear me before. Do you know anything about this expedition?" he asked in a little less of a sing song voice. he did not like to be ignored.
Amalie turned her eyes to him keeping her same smile from before. "Oh, I heard you. The detail is that there are no details."
"No details? Oh dear, I will have to speak to Cailin about that. Someone like me can't just jump into the fray without explanation."

Her pointed ears drooped a bit. "No, no speak well," Cazie blushed, rubbing one arm. "Me grew up in wild. Trying to learn but it hard." It took her a second to realize that Amalie had introduced herself. "Amalie... nice name. Nice to meet you."
While Everett mentioned asking Cailin about the expedition's details, the elf girl was contented not knowing. The mystery of the scenario only made her that much more eager to get into the thick of it.

Dolmirr woke with the morning sun, barely giving time to rub his eyes or clothe himself before his morning routine. He spent a large portion of time stretching and limbering, finishing off by bench pressing the bed he had slept on. His body warmed up for the day, he quickly covered his stark nudity, his clothes and robes crisp and professional. There was a moment of stillness in his room as he clutched his medallion tightly, praying to Oron to grant him spells of the divine. "Thank you, Oron, for another peaceful rest. May I look forward to another with the power you bestow me." He finished aloud, slinging the leather string around his neck and looping his mace in his belt. He took a deep sigh and whisked out of the room, a gentle smile fluffing his beard.
By the time he reached the bottom step his beard was already near a finished, thick braid, his hands working with finesse to tie it off. He greeted the lobby with a proud, "Good morning!" quickly passing the mahogony portal, his target undeniably a good meal. "A tankard of ale and a hunk of meat please! Nothin fancy. Put er on an empty table, I'll get to er." he called to the staff, his soft smile emanating through his words. He paced to the desk, where he usually spotted the hearty blonde Cailin, but there were only other quest seekers like himself in front. "So whats goin on over here? The man not have somethin on the list today?" He asked the two.

"There is a expedition. The details are a mystery." Amalie answered as she turned to face Dolmirr. She motioned to the sheet with what little details there were. "Makes things more fun. "
Everett leaned on his umbrella making a humming noise. "Oh no, it won't do at all. How can someone choose a quest without knowing if it is fabulous enough?"
Amalie raised an eyebrow, "Aren't jobs supposed to be hard work? Not really a glamour sort of thing."
"You're just not taking the right jobs, honey."

At this moment, Cailin returned; kicking the door open wide (as his hands were busy holding a dark brown box, that he swiftly slid onto a shelf below the desk. He leaned on his desk forward, the same grin as always plastered on his face.
"Whoa-ho-ho! It got busy in here. Howdy, how y'all doin'?" he asked the newcomers to the desk; which was Amalie, Everett, Dolmirr and Cazadora.

Laeva nodded with understanding, "I think it would be good for you to try it, especially if you have interest. Some of the requests don't even involve combat, and those that do have the risk often don't amount to anything dangerous..." she paused to contemplate her next words, swallowing down the last of her meal, "How about for your first request I'll help you, eh? I intend on getting a request today anyway, so once you finish your food, you can come along. That is, if that suggestion sounds good to you?"
She was always ready to help people, and having company on a quest sounded fun. She gulped down another glass of water after finishing her food with surprising speed. She'd begun to notice the gathering in front of the desk, occasionally glancing at the situation with a curious glint in her eye from the corner where she and Aviv sat.

[@Crystal Clover Wow, those are really good! That's pretty accurate to how I imagined Cazie to look.]

Cazie flinched as the innkeeper returned, then tilted her head curiously, wondering what was in the package Cailin was carrying. Checking for herself didn't seem like the smartest idea. She figured he'd probably talk about it if it was anything worth mentioning, and just shrugged it off as none of her business.
Cazie pointed at the application form. "Me want know about 'expedition'" she answered. Though she tried to hide her emotions, she couldn't stop the glimmer of excitement in her olive green eyes.

Dolmirr rubbed his hands together with an exciting anticipation. "A mystery quest eh? 'Aven't been on one a those in a while." he said as he scanned the paper for any clues. "The great thin about quests like these, is that you make em go howevah you want em to." He winked at Everett, "The potential of fabulousness could be damn well infinite." a chuckle worked its way into the end of his sentence and he stepped back from the desk, opening up more room.
"Aye, I'm doin grand, you blonde devil, an I agree with the li'l lady. Give us all ya got on the expedition."

((OOC: Since I was late to start, if its ok with you, I'm just gonna pretend my characters were a little late showing up to the party, so I'm not chronologically out of place. Also, I'm not entirely done with what's had me busy, but I can at least get on every now and then.))

Nero had risen somewhat late this morning, and he had initially assumed he was the only to rise at such a time. He was surprised to see a greeting thrown his way, and was mere seconds from responding to it when he felt another individual brush against him. For a moment, he felt himself bristle like an angry animal, but then he fell silent. He stepped aside, allowing a much taller female to pass him by on the stairs. Her eyes glistened his way for a fleeting moment, but the two did not exchange words. The gnome necromancer was mere seconds from answering the greeting to him, but the female must have had business with the same person, for she almost silently brushed the gnome aside when she responded to him.

"Thank you, thank you," Ilselval purred. "I hope I did not rise too late. Last night was a little rough for me; I'd rather not discuss why."

Nero stared. She had risen late too. How strange. Part of him was curious to inquire to her why her night had been rough, but the other dared not intrude in a stranger's business. He had seen her back and forth, in and out, but the two had never spoken, and he found it unlikely they soon would. From what he had gathered, she was into dogs, and someone who had dogs wouldn't be interested in discussing anything with a necromancer.

Laeva waited for Aviv to finish her food with an amused tone to her gaze, sipping down her water while she ate. She studied the gathering group at the desk where the owner usually organized papers, though he'd left the desk for the moment. During the short wait, Laeva picked out the maid who had served them and briefly stopped her to give her a small tip for her service. She then got up after Aviv and followed her to the board, looking over the requests.
"...Ah, this must be what that gathering at the desk is about," she mumbled, half to herself, squinting at the writing that vaguely described the request, "... A 'severe issue' sounds important. Say, Aviv, let's take this one. It seems in need of a couple more people, no?"
She gave a confident smirk as she turned, gently tapping Aviv's arm to signal for her to follow. The gathering around the desk had gotten larger, and Cailin had returned by the time Laeva walked up to take the request. From her angle she spotted the paper and quill, and strutted right up to sign her and Aviv's names onto the mission. She didn't hesitate despite the lack of solid information available. She listened in on the others asking for more information, as the request board had been rather vague, and looked up at Cailin with an expectant expression.

Cailin raised a thick eyebrow at the crowd he had gathered in front of his desk, before raising his hand to get all the attention, eyes darting between each person.
"That sick of helpin' out folks in Argest? It's much dangerouser out there," he said with a mocking sigh, but clearly joking. "You's a lotta people, though, so I reckon ya'll'll be safe, eh?" he began, allowing ample time for anyone interested in the expedition to fully open their ears.
"Well, y'see, there's this kid; Barrik his name is. Ain't got a clue why he wants help, but his village sent him to deal with some sorta threat."
As if on cue, a young boy of 5' 2" stumbled backwards through the door to the left of the room, his hands clenched tight around a battleaxe. His dirty blonde hair was matted and scruffy. He was scrawny, but slightly rounder in his cheeks and pale with the majority of the colour on his face being a harsh red blush. He dropped the battleaxe onto the floor with a loud clanking noise and dropped to the floorboards, before smiling weakly at Cailin and the surrounding group. "Mornin'..." he huffed, supporting himself shakily up on his hands and knees.
"In fact, that's him right now. Someone get him to a table, and Viv? Get some water for the kid." he asked, a look of concern on his face.

Vivian, who was tucking her tip into her pocket, nodded and jogged away in a rush to get a pitcher of water and a tankard for Barrik.

"Aw, look who can't hold a weapon properly! Maybe you should give that weapon to someone who can hold it!" Amalie said mockingly in Barrik's general direction. She crossed her arms. So this was the kid who put up the expedition? He didn't look like much to Amalie, but maybe he would prove her wrong.
Everett walked over and offered a hand to Barrik "Morning. Come on, darling. The floor is no place for you." He said as he waited for the kid to stand back up. Sure, the kid didn't have the greatest entrance, but maybe his task would prove to be absolutely glorious.

Laeva hurried over as soon as Barrik toppled to the floor and picked up his battleaxe for him. Though she was short and dainty-looking, she picked it up without struggle and let it rest across one shoulder so her other hand could help him up.
"Good morning," she greeted in return, helping Barrik to his feet alongside the umbrella man, "I hope you're alright?" She pulled out a chair for the kid to sit on once he was up, still keeping his battleaxe firmly on her shoulder until he was comfortable and ready to talk. She gave Amalie a disapproving glance, seeing as how this kid was about to be her employer, she found the mocking tone of the other Ondine to be rude. She decided to ignore it and instead introduced herself to Barrik, finally offering his battleaxe back to him once he'd settled.

Barrik took both of Everett's and Laeva's hands that were offered, pulling himself to his feet, while a muffled grunt brushed off Amalie's comment. It didn't really stifle a reaction from Barrik, other than that; something that would probably disappoint her. "Thank you ever so much," he said while being helped to a seat, smiling at the kindness. "Name's Barrik, nice to meetcha Leaves!" he chimed, giving a salute. "You all here for my adventure, I would suppose?" Barrik immediately looked like pressure was relieved from him, and his tired face almost lit up as bright as a star.

Vivian returned very swiftly and slid the tray on the table, before jogging off to another person's order. She was being to sweat a little bit from the sudden rush, but somehow seemed barely phased.

Nero kept himself distanced from the rest of the group, though he couldn't help but stare and listen. A group this big must have gathered for a valid reason and as he scanned the group sharply, he realized the female elf that had bumped into him earlier had clearly had the same train of though, for she was nestled within the group herself too, alert and interested. He could still hear just find what they had to say, but was not within touching distance of any. He had missed the very beginning of the spiel, but had gotten the gist of what it entailed. He also had a great view of when the boy fell slightly, though he did not act when it occurred. He was definitely close enough to see it, however. He clutched his staff, staring at the incident, and each person's reaction to it. He wasn't sure he'd stick around for this showing, but he could at least continue to humour the group a listen.

Ilselval acted, "Watch your step. It would be awful if you hurt yourself." She knew right then and there that if the boy hurt himself she would step back and let someone else handle the situation. She could at least be slightly concerned, couldn't she? She had to admit, she was awfully curious about what this group was gathering for. Was there money to be found? Would her dogs see any new masters? That's why she hovered around. She knew she was missing a couple details, but she couldn't shake the feeling of interest.

Cazie's gaze snapped towards the entrance to the inn as the harsh clatter of a battleaxe hitting the floor landed on her ears. So this was the person that they were going on this 'expedition' for. Well, no wonder, the kid looked like he wouldn't have lasted a second in the wild. But despite that, she had to admire his dedication. In the back of the crowd, she offered Barrik a respectful nod.

"Aye, your expadition sounds like a lil breath of fresh air." The stout dwarf said with a nod. "The name's Dolmirr, an whatever needs doin, Oron'll see over it." He held out his hand to the boy, his calloused dwarven hand strong and steady.

Barrik smiled while sinking back into his seat, still ever so slightly winded. His eyes went from the right of the gatherers, to the left, and then back again. In response of Ilselval's comment, Barrik gave a youthful grin and a happy nod. Leading forward when the dwarf offered his hand, he took it and shook; or much rather, he was the one being shaken.
"Ya see, I come fromma village 'bout 2 days to the south-east of here. We've been 'avin some... troubles, shall I say. I dropped a shovel and it landed on an imp." he began, his face dropping at the last comment for a split second. "Everyone thinks I'm some sorta hero for squashin' the bugger, but it was a complete accident; people think I'm just modest. They want me to investigate where the imp came from, because I mean that's clearly a threat. I'm not willin' to do that myself, so I came here."
