Repaint, but damn that looks clean.

It's like it was painted over the original parts and then glued together.

Funny thing- i've never seen that custom anywhere. Even reverse image searching it shows nothing.

Maybe this is a variant to be added in the new update?

The base makes me think this is officially done, unless there was a stencil or something involved to keep the Ninja symbol. (But then, I don't see where green fits in with a variant like that, unless it's supposed to be the football field...)

Ok, I don't mind the 500 price tag as much, but 5,000 is scalper level. Personally I wouldn't pay over 20 for this. It's nothing but a repaint and I don't like the paint job as much.

At first I thought that this was from the Christina Aguilera Christmas party birthday bash but I see that her boys' name is Max and not Ben. Could it be for some other over indulged child's birthday gift?

It just seems too real looking to me, like why would anyone go to make one say Ben like that? It would take a hell of a lot of effort and cost to make up a box like that from scratch and then add birthday bits for no reason.

And that color scheme is so oddly Patriotic. There has to be some reason for all of this as it goes way far beyond a mere weird custom job.

Anyway, he also has a clear Starcast and a Christmas Chompy Mage up for sale. A clear Starcast is just too suspicious as they are not easy to get at all. He had to have some connections here.

If anything, I would say that he was one of the attendees for this Ben's party and they were all given Skylanders gifts. This guy is merely selling his off now.

I mean, if you are the son of a big hot shot with connections, then it's a snap to get customized Skylanders figures made up for your kid. Much like how there are only about 300 or so employee figures made every year, right?

Has anyone asked the guy yet how they were obtained? I find it so amazing that people list these things with next to no explanation yet they somehow know enough to charge big bucks for them. It's an extremely lazy way to sell anything of high value and it always shocks me that people do this time and time again. Get off your cell phone and use a PC to write a real description to sell that sucker. Do a little to earn that $500 to $5000! If it's legit, then it's easily worth $500 as no other serious collector on this forum has one and several wouldn't bat an eyelash at paying that much for it.

I am even more dubious now after asking through the contact seller feature on ebay if this figure is legitimate or a custom. I said I would be willing to bid either way but wanted to know before I started what I was bidding for. that was 3 days ago now and still no reply.

more ebay pics were posted, it shows the figure as Level 1 and Gold 0.
i believe most if not all chases start out with Level 5 and what Gold 2500, 5000? something like that.
These two bits of info, imo, points yet again that it is a custom/fake.
Save your money, if If IF this is real, there will be more.

Looks like someone bit the bullet and bought it for $500. Which one of us here done it? LOL

Perhaps the winner can show off the bottom of the box and compare it to a real Starcast? I'm curious, but I'm not expecting anything strange with this one. I think it's just a variant that got out out without any of us knowing about it. Typical for Skylanders where they just do stuff and ignore the fans that care about these things.
