The Sprawl Trilogy: Neuromancer, Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive. (Widely considered to be the first creation in the cyberpunk genre.)

The Silo Trilogy: Wool, Dust and Shift. (Literally Fallout with Silos replacing Vaults.)

"The Poop that took a Pee" By Leopold Stotch. Great read. Really reaches back to the roots of the author's life.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. (Not a joke)

I don't read word books personally, but manga is cool.

I do appreciate him going back like that and enjoy both books, but I would say to start with the first book in his acclaimed series, The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs. I think it's a better book overall and has powerful imagery. I also wanted to kill John Lennon after reading it.

New flash, John Lennon is already dead. It's a good book too but not nearly as profound and deep as The Poop that took a Pee. It has such greater meaning and may hold some keys to the meaning of life. It's just such an amazing book.

I remember being the only one in grade school to figure out the mystery before the end of the book and everyone else. I uh... wouldn't call it the best book though.

Omg, I read that in 6th grade. I remember the entire thing. Please read it even though it's a kids book. Definitely the best book that I've ever read.

The Search for WondLa is a really good series. There's 3 books and I think that they place you in such an amazingly detailed setting with memorable characters and moral ambiguity

Above all else, I must recommend the Wings of Fire series by Tui T Sutherland, it's about as awesome as it can get.

Erin Hunter's's many series's are good reads too, as are the Last Dragon Chronicles, and Unicorne Files from Chris D'Lacey.

What about the Unicorne Files? They aren't the same, but still cool. I've also heard he's got a new series called Erth Dragons.

Aye, haven't read Erth Dragons yet either, which should be interesting, as it adds to Wings of Fire's existence as a series with the protagonist being a dragon. I've heard Erth Dragons has some stuffs connecting it to the Last Dragon Chronicles too.

The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex

The Dreamworks movie Home was based on it, but it did it hardly any justice, and I'm disappointed that it turned out so poorly. It's labeled as children's fiction, but it honestly feels more in the YA category, and it's probably one of the best reads I've ever had. It's hilarious, creative, and quirky. The movie left out so much of the book that gave it personality, which boggles me. It wasn't supposed to be some "'round-the-world" adventure, it was a cross-country road trip that played on old alien conspiracies. And the main antagonists were far more entertaining and interesting in the book.

I'm rambling, sorry. I just really love this book, and the fact that the movie adaptation was so poorly received (understandably) breaks my heart.
