When do you think Skylanders 6 will get announced? Give me a specific date and time (Please specify Time Zones)

Me, personally! I have a hunch that it'll get announced Friday May 27th at 8:00 EST. Final guess, no take backs! It has to be that time or else Activision is just wasting time doing nothing!

I want it to be Monday, too. All signs point to Monday what with Yroc and AGG going to a "special event" at Activision that they have been suuuuper secretive about. Notice how Yroc hasn't posted about the leak from today? Hmmm... I dunno, but I'm hoping for an announcement this week!

Nothing is happening until Battlecast drops in USA. Haven't heard anyone here chatting about it in countries where they have it. Not sire if that's a good sign.

There's no one to chat with. Lamoracke tried to get some discussions going about the cards on the board but it's hard when he's one of the few seriously collecting for the time being, others must be waiting for the worldwide release.
It's a sign they should've released it simultaneously instead of teasing for 3 months straight,but that's too late now.

Because TheHDRoom says "somewhat soon" I'm placing my bets at some point from Wednesday May 25th (so as not to overshadow Battlecast) to Wednesday June 1st (Since June seems far too late for announcement)

Not sure at what time, maybe somewhere between 10am and 5pm EST.

Whatever happens I'm really looking forward to that "somewhat soon" TheHDRoom was talking about! Here's to hoping that means Monday or Tuesday

A lot of people don't really care about Battlecast that much. Which is a shame, too! Looks real fun. I just wish Activision didn't just poop the game out without any prior marketing.

Corporate is hell bent that mobile platforms is where the future is at---other big houses are dropping AAA titles and making the bet there. Unfortunately there are some important dynamics they are missing---most likely the fact that the fans of some of the older franchises simply don't do mobile and the fact that they want a AAA experience.

They invested some signfiicant time and money to bring the AAA experience to mobile for Skylanders, but they didn't take it. I would say that taking figures with you doesn't match up with the fact that you have a mobile device--granted they made allowances in the game to sumon on demand once scanned but it kills the immersion that made TTL so big to start with--that and fans just assume you'll have to lug the figures around without any investigation.

Battlecast seems to me to be another attempt to make mobile a core platform for the genre. I'm still mad that they took cards away from the figures so they immediately killed (in my mind) any idea about me buying cards. The previous entries have been light on sales with no breakthrough. I think they'll do better with Battlecast relative to its previous entries but I still expect it to be minor.

The problem isn't the experience or the game itself,it's the zero marketing until literally 5 days before it's out on the US. If you didn't live in Australia this didn't exist for you in the last 5 months AFTER it was announced to come out in "early 2016" and the Cards to Life demo ended in January.
It's definately a good game and (for now) the microtransactions aren't sucking out the fun if you're just starting out, but when nobody knows about how good it is except a handful, no word of mouth means no downloads means no updates and tweaks.

Point taken about Battlecast specifically, I was communicating about Acti's general mobile strategy over the years and how it will continue to disappoint.

Already comfirrmed for this year, simultaneous-ish release with Academy(they didn't say when, just that fans would enjoy at the same holiday/fall).

They confirmed that they were going to release a game this year in several press releases. Also, while I love Battlecast to death, it will NOT be a replacement for a new core game. They will not make nearly enough profit for it to be sustainable.

At this point I'd say E3 since it's only a little over 2 weeks away (6-12-16). I doubt we'll see separate press releases until the brand proves itself again...just a guess though.
