Games you enjoyed as a kid, but don't anymore [CLOSED]

Have you ever played any games as a kid that you really enjoyed, but then when you played them again as a teen/adult, you thought "Why did I like this again?"

I used to like playing Crash Tag Team Racing a lot when I was 13 and I would even play it just to listen to the music. But nowadays, I don't find it as fun, some of the music is annoying and it doesn't even feel like a Crash Bandicoot game. It's too zany compared to the other games and I don't find this kind of humour in video games, films, cartoons etc as enjoyable anymore.

I give most of my games away, so I don't often replay things from my childhood. I feel like if I replayed SpongeBob featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom, I might be inclined to hate it. I remember that game being super hard as a child.

Skyward Sword. Used to be my favorite Zelda, but now it just seems slow. (but I still love the controls)

Also Webkinz

Spore, oh so much. Though less kid and more teenager. Spyro Shadow Legacy as well.

Also partially FFXII. I love it all the same, but I've learned it's nowhere as fun to watch as it is to play - hectic menu switching is a noisy mess if you're not doing anything yourself.

I can get back to Explorers, but just looking at Rescuers sounds like a real chore. Having to go to each Friend Area(guess the right one, too) to assign teammates? Yeah no, give me Chimecho any day.

Super is just made of optimization though. From missions to teammates to collecting rewards, it's really easy to grind and get missions going. You do have to sit through the crawl that is the early game's pacing though, but the moment you get to Lively Town that weight is lifted almost instantly.

Any racing game, like Forza and PGR4.

Also the lego games. I used to love them when I was younger, but they just feel like a chore now :/

Spore - well, I lost the cartridge but it was never that good anyway.

Now that I think about it, Kingdom Hearts. I used to love that series but recently my interest in it has just disappeared, not exactly sure why. I got both the 1.5 and 2.5 HD remakes but still haven't finished them, and I'm not really that interested in KH3 anymore either.

Maybe it's because I've also lost interest in Disney. smilie

I think I tried recruiting Groudon like 3 times in Explorers and never tried to recruit another legendary ever again. I managed to get Darkrai in one of the randomized locations, but never again doing an entire dungeon just for a pointless boss battle that doesn't get me anything.

I guess this is why I hold good feelings for most games I played back then, 100% was never in mind so I never worked myself to the bone.
Real regrets I have nowadays working myself to the bone on a game just to finish story mode. Back then I'd forget it existed like half of my brother's pirated PS2 collection.

I haven't played it in a long time but I probably wouldn't be too big on Fable nowadays.

I also liked a lot of mediocre/bad Sonic games like Shadow the Hedgehog.

I used to enjoy Spyro Fusion and Crash Fusion when I was 11-12, but now I find the minigames really tedious especially because you have to play all of them three times in Spyro Fusion in order to unlock the last world.

I don't think I touched a Neopet game in years though I take a peek every now and then to find out the new thing Jumpstart has ruined(latest one is captchas on everything but where it'd be needed to stop cheating). I think because of the advancements in the Flash addon ithe old games either run too fast to play properly or too fast to even work(don't touch Ready to Roll). Assignment 53 might be the only one remotely in good shape since it's the most recent.

Club Penguin

But tbh I would give it another shot if the free mode wasn't so restrictive, having to pay to buy ANY clothes and having SO many areas locked off was ridiculous

It's gone downhill recently. Membership is practically FORCED onto you, and the parties aren't interesting anymore. Not as many rooms are decorated, either. And no, I don't play it, but I checked it out again a few moths ago.

I always think the best time for Club Penguin was 2010-2012 smilie
