There's a possibility that they're just putting this in the system ahead of time so that they avoid last year's debacle with Thrillipede. This could also just be a limited time thing! Who knows at this point? I myself can't believe this is happening, but, at the same time, I wouldn't mind it!

We already have listings for waves 2 and 3 anyway, so the day 1 thing is definitely placeholder, just like every year before.

Also, does anyone still have that video of the Swashbuckler creation? I gotta glance over the tails to see if there's one that fits some kind of cloud guy.

Of course, it might be a place holder, but I don't think it is. Otherwise, it would probably be listed for the beginning or end of the month, not day 1.

It did, and while it may not be in my pictures, I saw it with my own eyes that it was all supposed to be for October 16th. Plus, the release lists are always in order by date, and on my picture you can see they're all right after another, so there's at least some proof they're releasing together.

Yeah, it's always on the box, but in the system, it's NEVER like that. They're always by release order, not by when they're supposed to be held.

Buuuuuuuut! Like, Zap pointed out, Chompy Mage isn't there. If these were just placeholders for all the toys for this game, wouldn't Chompy Mage be there too? Plus, I repeat, this is the official list of items in Toys R Us's system. The dates on these are usually SPOT ON! So yeah, I'd say it's HYPE time!

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot the fact that no other variants are listed besides Chopscotch and the Legendaries. If these were truly placeholders, wouldn't we also see the Christmas Variant Chompy Mage?

To be fair, if it's a exclusive to Amazon (not timed, but just exclusive), it probably wouldn't be listed on there. But it's still unlikely he would be Amazon exclusive, because the only Amazon exclusive we've had was Bronze flameslinger, and he wasn't an in game variant (I'm not counting Scarlet Ninjini, since she was later released elsewhere).

I still believe it of course, especially after seeing it with my own eyes, but just saying.

Don't worry, he's there. Just listed as coming out a day later for some reason.


I personally think they're placeholder dates as a blanket to cover everything they've been given info on, but it wouldn't surprise me if they got things in faster with how aggressively they're trying to get rid of the old stuff.

Darn, so it's just pure speculation until something official gets announced. I'm excited, though! This could be great if it becomes real. I might have to seriously adjust my Day 1 Plan if this is happening.

There's no way they are releasing every figure day 1. There's just no way.

But if they did that'd be the ultimate "timed exclusive figures" promotion in the entire franchise.

If this was a Walmart or Target, I'd agree, but I believe TRU is probably the only retailer able to pull this off properly.

As much as I'd like to see it happen (so I can get Tidepool on Day 1), I doubt they're really going to release every single character on release... I think they're probably just having them in storage so that when the time comes to put them out on shelves, they got them ready.

Just to clarify, obviously not every store and retail chain will put out every character, that's just insane... I do believe that it is possible for TRU to have all the characters. They have enough shelf space to pull this off. Is it guaranteed, no! Is it likely, maybe...

The fact that I saw the release list at TRU, and it said they're all set for October 16th release.

But as far as I know (and someone who works at TRU, please let me know if I'm wrong), the list is about the actual release of the figures. The starter packs are all listed as October 16th, which is the release date, and obviously they can't just get it in the day of release, because the store's display has to be put up the day before, which isn't possible if they didn't have the stuff before hand. And before, when the TT Light and Dark expansion packs were releasing on December 23rd, they already had them in the back room a couple days before (which I know for a fact because they brought them out and showed them to me).

I doubt they would release all of that on the first. If they spread it out, that's one thing. But no one could seriously get all of that on launch. I would have to bring bags just to carry all the figures and Gryphon Peak Observatory, not counting the two starter packs since I take the bus

It'd cost you over $200 even if it wasn't all day 1...
You're were planning to get all of them anyway, right?

Think about it this way: 1. you don't have to wait to use anyone, and 2. It can only save you money long term (on gasoline, and half the cost of like, ~12 BOGO's)
