A non-biased, non-opinionated, very controversial observation [CLOSED]

Disclaimer: This does NOT reflect my personal opinion about anything in anyway; this is just an observation I made.

The whole concept and ideology of transgender people only seems to perpetuate gender appropriation and stereotypes.

To be fair, encouraging people to break sterotypes is also prejudice because they might be happy just following the dotted line. On another hand, never striving for better is harmful against yourself. On ANOTHER hand, some people think harming yourself is just an expression of your feelings.

Once you think about something too hard,anything can be offensive.

Well, not that way. I mean, as long as you LOOK for a way to be offended,you'll find it. Analyzing and trying to find a middle ground is what makes good argument,not so much searching deep inside your feels to say the other person is a bigot.

Even though you said it doesn't reflect your personal opinion, people there would still assume it is and call you something like "transphobic trash" or something.
And yeah you'll get a bunch of hate messages.

Yeah you begin to split hairs at that point and I always found it odd how some people will begin to assume they're trans just because they like more feminine/masculine things. I mean it's perfectly fine if you want to just go with the flow with what society believes to be feminine or masculine but if you're also trying to buck such gender stereotypes but then adopt them yourself or use them as a barometer to identify your gender identity you have to at least be aware of the hypocrisy.

I think most of us here can agree though that even if a trans person chooses to adopt the gender stereotypes of the gender they become, it's asinine to think you're trans just because you like MLP or Transformers right?

That confuses me too. It's like saying tomboys are trans.

There's been posters up in our school for like 4 days, and they've all been about how transgender people feel uncomfortable in school and all that jazz. According to one, 1/8th of black transgender people are murdered. I don't see how they got that, but whatever. But there's only like one openly transgender person in our school.

People do realize the diagnostic criteria for Gender Dysphoria in the DSM-V is fairly strict, right? And only 30-50% of children who are diagnosed continue to have this in adulthood? Which means anywhere from half to 70% of children whose gender identities disagree with their natal sex eventually stop viewing themselves as the other gender.

At least, that's what the American Psychiatric Association says. <.<;

I've noticed that there are a lot less adults who consider themselves transgender than teens/children. It would make sense that the whole thing mainly had something to do with how the human brain develops before reaching adulthood.
