Mr. Robot season finale postponed due to Virginia shootings [CLOSED]

The season finale of Mr. Robot, the best television program of all time, was due to air last Wednesday. However, USA postponed the airing to this Wednesday, stating the episode contains a scene similar to the shooting of a journalist and cameraman that morning (which you all have heard of by now).

The move caused some controversy. Some lauded USA for being respectful and sympathetic, while others called it a weak form of pandering to political correctness.

My opinion is that it was probably the worst spoiler I've ever seen, as now we know that there will be a gunfight in the episode and a character will probably die. Thanks, USA. Good job.

Yes I'm aware it's a spoiler but if the episode aired regardless it would've been seen as inappropriate and insanely insensitive. What happened in real life is going to take a back seat to things that happen in fictional media.

It's similar to the list of songs that were temporarily banned from radio after 9/11, or when Gangster Squad had a movie shooting scene taken out of trailers (and I think the film as a whole) after the Aurora shooting. It's just about paying respects by not showing questionable stuff like that.

oh yeah reminds me of when they had to last minute butcher the ending of mgs2 because it was suppose to come out like 2 weeks after 9/11.

you could literally feel konami saying "OH **** OH **** OH **** OH **** WE HAVE TO CHANGE THIS" in how confusingly edited that ending bit was, as if the ending of mgs2 wasn't confusing enough as is.

It might not even necessarily be edited. Maybe it's just delayed until some time passes and it's a little more acceptable to air it.
