I CAN'T LOG IN! [CLOSED]

Help! I can't log in here anymore! I am 100% sure that the password is correct and I checked the spelling of the username 100 times over! What's going on?

I believe in a different topic you mentioned that this topic had vanished (that topic itself has since vanished) and that you'd gotten over the problem.

For future reference, you can still log into your account even if it has been made a Ripto or Gnorc account (though I wouldn't recommend logging into a Ripto one). If you can't log in then it's usually either a site related error, some problem with your cookie settings or you've forgotten your password/username. In this case it was a site problem.

I am having this same problem right now, as you can see by my fodder ranking and supreme lack of significant avatars. What's goin' on around here?!

I can't login now. At least not in the forum subdomain anyway. Just to check, you are able to login on the home page, correct?

Well this is odd, it seems the problem is that the database has decided to split into two and they're not updating at the same time. I have control over the main site but the forum is off on its own for now.

An easy to see example of it, if you look at the comments in the news on the front page you'll notice they don't quite match up with the ones in the forum version. smilie

Okay, I've got a temporary solution. Go to //darkspyro.net (no www) and you should be able to login to the forums from there.


EDIT: However, I can't promise that the site won't suddenly rollback to the version of the database that's on the www version of the site, but hopefully it won't (as I've got a backup of that now if this one stays I can just try and jam the missing posts back in again once I regain control).

EDIT 2: Okay, it now seems to have been sorted. Hopefully you can login without problems now. I'll set about inserting the missing posts again in a bit.

EDIT 3: And there we go, all missing posts should be back. If there are still some missing then I'm afraid it's unlikely they'll ever be seen again.
