So it's likely that Champions was a "filler" arc.

Filler or they had no other idea of what to do with Deja Vu and Blades - Jawbreaker's actually story important because it's where the Sky Train is opened,meaning anyone can have free acess to Cloudbreak Islands.

The comic got put back on Amazon and a lot of other comic websites a couple of days ago.

All the sites have a pic of one of the older comics as its image at the moment but it could change at any time with the new game meant to be announced soon.

Some comic websites updated some skylanders stuff a couple days ago.




Interesting they are referring to an October game release ( could easily but wrong anyway )

And referring to rift into overdrive as the first skylanders graphic novel. Not just a comic.

Yeah, that comic is before Rift into Overdrive though.

The overall cover looks really promising.

The colorist does some weird mistakes every now and then, especially with Mabu colors and with some of Malefor's details. Unless it's one of his emplyees which happens to look like a goldfish.

May be but don't know if his assistants also have that metal saw-like decoration on their dorsal fins.

They show up at the end of some of the newer footage,but kinda hard to see.

Then I definitely didn't see them since I didnt watched gameplay videos to avoid any potential spoiler.

glumshanks is back!!

All the villains in that image appear "Glumshanksesque." Does he have some evil siblings? I especially like the one with the Pendulum weapon.

They're enemies from the Cloud Dragon level in SuperChargers.

The one with the giant rock pickaxe is actually that one that warns the troops in Cloud Breather Dragon, though we obviously don't see much of him with the dev teleporters. But those ninjas on the back I don't recall at all, they're way too colorful to be from the blue-skinned troops.

Perhaps they'll give out exclusive versions of the bundle at Comic Con like they did with The Kaos Trap comic.

First time I see those enemies and they look REALLY cool!

Question: do we know if they are all regular enemies?
Because the big one with the stone axe, the one with the red cape and the one with the red gloves actually look like a team of side-villains.

Not really, the only ones we've actually seen ingame was the guy with the pickaxe and maaaybe the one with the lance because he looks like the small ones, but they still could be part of a minion team working for Kaos.
Either way, RIP Know-it-All Island now that we can see it fully. Your music was cool I guess?

I wonder how many previous and new locations will be destroyed by the end of the game and if they will come back after Kaos is defeated.

Dark times might await our heroes... Literally.

Though they'll probably be back just as normal once it's all said and done, status quo and all that. But it'd be pretty nice if some locations never recovered, and even the books and comics bring up there's no way to retrieve whatever was useful there or something.
But not too many places are actually recurrent enough unlike characters. Eternal Archives(too valuable as an asset for easy exposition or sealed horrors), Tree of Life(which is too essential to take out of canon),The Underworld(parts of it at least),Mabu Market... Not much else.

I wonder if Portal Masters' time control could allow them to travel back when they still existed or if they would be gone forever.

I think the The Ruins may actually return (maybe in the future if not in this game) if the Darkness will truly take a form and become a direct threat for the Skylanders.
I think that was the only thing that could keep it at bay.

Maybe that's Kaos' objective: wipe out everything on his path to ultimately destroy the Core of Light and allow the Darkness to take over the multiverse.
Would love a Story like that even if I honestly think the Darkness will only show its true form only at the very end (if not after the credits) and most likely steal Kaos glory for whatever he's up to.

I don't think he could actually be more threatening than the incarnation of all evil to be the final boss.

Spyro but no sign of Pop Fizz... Oh man, if it wasn't for that leak we'd still be arguing over his appearance.
Cover looks pretty good, and yeah, I agree with Matteomax, though it could've been worse(read, more cliche scary).

Info on when this is set to release? #1 I mean.

Spyro really stands out in being there at all as everyone else looks like a supercharger and he doesn't. This would further cement theories if he's even actually involved with them or just there so people know he is. I think he's only there by the author's insistence. They could've easily put pop fizz there, so they probably won't have spyro in other volumes. I think that enough would make me read what happens in the first one.

Spyro isn't on every Trap Team comic either, he just starts showing up after Deja Vu's comic, before just cameos, and even then he only makes his first protag appearance in Return of the Dragon King. He doesn't exactly have to disappear after this one or stay, it's just that the job called him for it or the author wants to use him more.

If this helps, David Rodriguez, one of the two writers of the IDW Skylanders comic series, wanted to establish "how important Spyro is to the skylanders team over the 1st year of the comics. He's their paragon."

I'm thinking Spyro was planned at one point to be the Super Charger, but was replaced by Pop Fizz because he's not bipedal (Which is a poor reason)

That we know, but I meant that I said a while back that it'd be ironic if David put Spyro in the comic because he likes him more(but can't have a say on who'll be the supercharger) and not Pop Fizz,but both are in.

Looks like they're actually gonna explain why Kaos is still evil! I hope they explain it as well as they did at the beginning of Giants when Kaos returned to Skylands. With Trap Team they just said "You know what? Let's just undo whatever the heck VV did, Kaos isn't tall anymore."

When he is walking around. I don't remember when, but he was on the inside of the academy. Near Aurics shop I believe.

Just got confirmation from Ron Marz (one of the two IDW Skylanders writers) on Twitter. According to him, Spyro is a popular character and so, they included him a lot in the comics.

I can see that Triggs would be Ron Marz' favorite; even if he doesn't show up much his dialogue/actions are always hilarious.

I noticed that they fixed Sharpfin's color on the comic cover.

I was so excited that it was an actual preview page I didn't even notice. He's still way darker than supposed to, however, his mouth is a bit closer to light gray when seen from below.

I just wanna make sure, but the comic will be on IDW right? I just checked and it said the new issue's release in TBD (to be determined)
