Overall, mixed feelings..
The Steven/Connie argument arc felt WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too drawn out. Connie should have texted Steven to meet her at some place later and talk. It just felt stupid.
We saw Kevin again, which brings the quality of the episode way down.
I... like Connie’s new hair? Ehhh...?
The Peridot and Sadie things were handled well though.
Garnet’s future vision is nonexistant.
We barely saw Garnet or Pearl, and the show “expertly” avoids any exposition because Connie was sorta stupid?
I sound really negative, but it was alright.

Can things actually ****ing happen for once? What was accomplished throughout these new episodes!?!?

NOTHING! I hate to sound so mean about it, but goddamn is this show getting on my nerves now!We had a total of one new monster fight in all of the recent episodes... ONE! I don’t care about the Connie bull**** nor do I care what the citizens of Beach City are doing now. I just wanna go back to Homeworld and fight some ****ing Gems, man! PLEASE! YOU ARE ON SEASON 5 OF THIS SHOW!!! GIVE US THINGS ACTUALLY HAPPENING

The only thing I remotely cared about was Lapis leaving, and even this arc glanced over that fact quick. I love Steven Universe so much, but the show’s potential is being ruined by this terrible over abundance of filler

The problem isn’t the filler, it’s that the filler isn’t interesting or necessary. Also the huge tease with Pearl.

I’m pretty sure I missed some, since this is only 26 out of like 138. That’s 19%.

First off, I am underwhelmed with what we got. I'm not exactly disappointed since I liked most of the episodes, but after the longest hiatus I was hoping for some plot heavier episodes. I also think the comic con trailer was done way too overexaggerated and made certain scenes appear bigger than they are (especially one but I'll get to that later).
Dewey Wins - One of my least favorite episodes in general. Couldn't care less about any of the events and is easily skippable.
Gemcation - This episode was nice and it could've been a great build up for more lore, but it failed. I feel insulted by the flashback scene of Pink Diamond, which looked like we would finally get to know what exactly happened and actually see Pink Diamond, but turned out to be a disgusting tease which was ruined by Steven's whining. The only interesting part about this episode, which will hopefully not just turn out to be a minor detail, was Pearl being unable to speak about homeworld and I'm sure everyone has seen the theories so I won't get into that here.
Raising the barn - The only episode which lived up to my expectations. Until now I was always on Lapis' side and saw a reason for the things she did, but this is the first time I really can't tolerate her action. I don't understand why she took the barn since Peridot was the one that wanted to bring it with them in the first place. The only reason I can see is so she would feel more like at home in space and in some way take Peri with her.
(Also I don't want to hear how much you hate Lapis and how bad my taste in characters is because I still like her)
Back to the kindergarten - Also an episode I liked. It didn't have a lot of plot but I enjoyed the shorty squad going back to the kindergarten, for once without Amethyst being insulted. (Btw this isn't supposed to be offensive towards Amethyst, I fully understand why she lost it the last two times it's just something I wanted to point out)
Sadie Killer - Not my favorite, but still a nice episode with some relatable Sadie and character development.
Kevin Party - It was nice seeing Kevin somewhat nice for once and it put an end to the unnecessary dilemma and Steven's constant whining.

It was nice to see their relationship actually take some turbulence, and them overcome it in the end. It's important that people see that a friendship doesn't have to end over something hurtful, and that the pain can be worked through. I can relate to that type of scenario myself; thinking that you've lost a friend will consume your mind.

Stevonnie was stranded long enough to grow some stubble, the gems are going to be mad because Steven was gone for who knows how long. Heck, he was only in Homeworld for less than a day, imagine their reactions after a month... which would transition into the next episode where the gems discuss gem lore, Pink Diamond, Rose, etc.

Or it could be another Island Adventure where literally no one cares.

But I’ve decided to quit watching of it’s revealed Pink Diamond is still alive somehow.

Blue and Yellow Diamond, on earth, at the temple, just talking with the main characters (including Bismuth). No hostility or anything, it’s just them talking, Blue holding Steven in her hand and lowering him down to the main characters.

So Pearl shattered PD, but also didn’t and she really only poofed her but left some gem shards there but Pink Diamond is Rose Quartz? HOW DO YOU DISPROVE AN OLD THEORY AND PROVE IT?


I was considering quitting if Pink Diamond was still alive but... they just did it so well.
