No, we're too old and set in our ways.

Sure it an help to know Metric and a number of devices such as a cellphone can convert them, but everything is already made and set using Imperial Units. It would throw everything off and confuse a ton of people to switch.

Yes, because scientific standards don't use imperial.

I think imperial can be used for certain applications, like carpentry, home appliances, penis measurements, etc, but other than that, it should be changed to metric to standardize calculations, especially in science and engineering.

i think we should slowly switch. first first put signs with metric and imperial units. over 10-30 years later, slowly switch the signs over to metric. because of this, it will give the people to adjust to it

Kinda the same... If we'd used it from the beginning, it'd be a different story, but to do so now would just make things hard on everyone. We're use to imperial and for us it's somewhat easy. Besides, imperial is used in everyday things such as construction, street directions, and even sewing (to know how much fabric to use). Changing would throw off everything in existence for us and basically lead to what was pointed out with the football field. If we were to switch, most of exists would be wrong, previous measurements (again back to construction) such as with building a house would then be uneven with previous units in an already exiting area. Sports arenas would all need to be remade, to allow a more even and easy to understand layout. It would simply cause more problems and inconveniences than actually solving anything.

I do agree on the point made that metric is better suited for sciency things, but overall if you're some renowned scientist, you should know both metric and imperial and be able to use whichever one suits your needs better for the given experiment or research you're working on.

doesnt america pretty much use the metric system for everything important anyway? i mean i cant think of a time i used anything other than the metric system in class since elementary school.

now pretty much the only thing we use customary for is height, weight, and dong size

Even then most doctor's offices (at least any one I've been in) will take your height and weight in metric.
