I'm going crazy. No one ever understands me when I try to explain the difference between them!
HEADPHONES.
How the heck do you kids wear headphones like this!?
[User Posted Image]
The sound seems WAY worse to me, and still to this day I don't know how to put those "things" in my ear. Why did some one invent those? those plastic/cloth things just get in the way, and... well... i dont liek em.

Now THESE, these, THESE are headphones (earbuds, whatever you call them,) that work well!
[User Posted Image]
Those babies sliiiide right in my ear-holes, nice, and easy.

Am I the only one that thinks this way?

Side note the best headphones in the world are...

I much prefer that first example over the second. The second example slide out of my ear way too easily, whereas the first fit perfectly and give me a good sound.

I actually prefer the third one. I don't like earbuds period. Maybe its just because I've always had the ones that go on or over your ear, but I could never stand earbuds.

Interesting...

I was meaning Beats, not necissarily the ones that go over your ear, I actually like those too

Beats have terrible sound to me...

I don't like earbuds, they don't give out as good of sound as headphones do.

Also Beats are more of a social class thing than about the sound, it's less "I like Beats because they give out good sound quality", it's always "I like Beats because they are cool"

I don't really care for the ear buds, they always seem to lack the high quality of headphones and ear buds sometimes do not stay in the ear. I prefer headphones. Better sounding and I love the bass enhancers.

Headphones constantly give me earaches.

I prefer earbuds. The first example you showed, I don't like the second example, as they also hurt my ears after using them for over an hour.

The best kind of headphones to use when listening to portable music players in my opinion are the ones with earhooks and “pillow”-type whole-ear covering design. Earbuds are the most annoying type and since my last knowledge about the subject, most hazardous to one’s own hearing.

Of course the best earphones for home usage are high quality wireless headphones. That is at least what I think.

I also like the first depicted pair of earbuds the best. I get a good enough sound quality out of them for pretty cheap (below $20 definitely) and I'm very careful with them so they don't easily and quickly break. I usually get a few months out of a pair, if not around a year if it's an especially good pair.
The second pair is okay, but just uncomfortable. Especially if there's a little boil in my ear canal that it rubs up against... Not like that happened too often, but it still hurt.
Don't care for headphones. They're bulky and I just don't like wearing them. Maybe at home I'll wear them, but never in public. Plus, it's way easier to talk to someone while still listening to music (if you can multitask like that) with earbuds since you can just take one out and leave the other one in.

but i love it all smooth

You really don't want tinnitus. I couldn't care less if I died since then I wouldn't have to hear that crap anymore.

Personally, I do love headphones but only if they're large. Quite a few headphones end up pressing my ears back into the frame of my glasses and they leave them really sore afterwards.

As for earbuds, I prefer the first kind mentioned in the first post as all other kinds physically don't stay in my ears. Unless I sit perfectly still and make sure I'm near nobody else, they fall out almost every time I move my head even slightly. With the first kind they never fall out, and they cancel out backround noise well. This is only in my own personal experience, however.

Some other users previously mentioned those earphones that clip around your ear and have the pillow-like part covering your whole ear? I really like those ones too, but I've been unable to use them ever since I got glasses as they interfere with the frames, unfortunately. Not great at cancelling out sound, however.

Are you sure you just weren't playing your music loudly? 'Cause tbh I don't think the earbuds themselves could actually cause that. I've never actually used those type before though, so Idk how deep inside the ear they go in, so maybe they play music loudly regardless?
I dunno, don't mind me..

I'm sorry you have to deal with that, though.

Earbuds in general can cause a lot of things.
I never played it loud. I made sure that the volume was the lowest possible to hear it where ever I was when using them.
I used the old apple ones for years and never had any problems untill I got my new ipod that came with apple's newer version of earbuds.

It's almost impossible to deal with. I have to wear ear plugs in loud environments like a cinema. I can't ever go to a concert, night club or hear silence again. I'm sensitive to high pitch and loud noises. If it gets worse I'd gladly jump off a cliff.

The closest thing to a cure is to strap a £4500 device to your head that trains your brain to not notice it/quieten it.

I much prefer the top ones. Don't know how you find that the bottom sound better. I spent a long ass time with the bottom ones and when I used the top ones for the first time, I immediately fell in love with them. Switched to them and held no regrets.

I also have a headset that I don't use for now. Nothing to use it on yet. They're pretty great.

I dislike beats because I don't like headphones
I dislike the first because they don't work the best for me.
