If you found out one of your classmates or someone sort of close to you were members of darkSpyro? Would it be awkward? Would you get excited and become besties?

Well, I cannot say that it would be awkward at all. All my classmates that have not become my friends throughout my existence do not eventually matter that much in my life that I would give them recognition in a way of emotion etc. I am very protective and superficial with my personal-business-life divide.

But if I would meet someone from my past here, I probably tried to be as business-orientated with that person as possible. I would ask that person about their current states of life in a superficial way and try to keep as minimum emotional commitment as possible.

Depending on how long they've been here and how much they've seen, I'd cut off all forms of contact with the person (even if it means leaving home) and never come back to the site.

It could go many ways. It would be really awkward if a hunter was in the same class as me. Really cool if it was an user I really admire or I am friends with. Or it could be a total nightmare if one of users I don't like was there.
