I'm already a bit of a clean freak and rarely touch other people so I think I'll be ok unless I have a cut on my finger and I touch the floor and someone with ebola sweat on the floor and then it turns out I'm dying of ebola because I touched a sweaty floor OH GOD AUSTRALIA SAVE ME.

THATS NOT ****ING FUNNY AT ALL
I swear if I see anyone like that ever I'm not even gonna tell them to get the **** out I'm just gonna leave cause they're pretty much dead This is written though on my assumption there isn't a cure yet. If there's a cure I'm still gonna do the same thing tho |

It's sad to hear how people are loosing their family members and how those with the virus are going out like this.
I don't want to see it around here. But if it happens, then it happens. |

I think the mortality rate is a bit high, but it's not 100%. If you catch it early enough you're probably okay, but I'm not actually completely sure about all of this, it's just some stuff I've heard before.
But no, it's not always fatal.

Worst case scenario the outbreak could reach up to 1.4 million cases by January. Doubtful that will happen though.

I don't think there's much to be worried about. Everyone should remain cautious, but Ebola won't spread as easy in America as it would in Western Africa.
It might sound bad, but a lot of the Ebola issues could be solved if they grounded all commercial flights in and out of Weat Africa. To my knowledge, they are still operating them.

No disease is "hard to contract." Why would a disease want to be useless? That's not at all beneficial for it's survival. Ebola spreads in a similar way to HIV, look how many that's killed. Anyways, Swine Flu back in 2009 was far more exaggerated than this. |

I like how people are making jokes about sending planes and helicopters. How the heck do you think Ebola reached US soil? Thousands of flight are departing Africa every day. Whose to say they're not carrying people that may have contracted the disease? Ebola symptoms take around 8-10 days to actually present themselves.
It's all in that Times article Taco posted. You should give it a read.

Just keep your hands clean by washing them like normal. Remain from touching your face. This is no different than other viruses that can only be transmitted through fluids.
Read the CDC page for prevention and all knowledge to decrease your chances of becoming infected. Plus only those with symptoms can spread it, even then they have to sneeze on you at a very close distance. Its much weaker than the flew in terms of travel.

I'm in Cali so I'm relatively close but I'm not particularly worried. This is just like any other fluid-transmitted virus and as long as I and people around me can stay safe it'll be fine. I mean, I've gotten through the Swine Flu and MRSA panics just fine,,
It doesn't help anxiety to see all of the posts circulating about it tho ;n;
