It just finished, it was ok, but then again, I couldn't enjoy it completely, something happened right before it came on

The thing where someone dies was The Simpsons, the crossover is actually an episode of Family Guy

It was pretty okay. Basically they took every running gag from Family Guy and a few from the Simpsons, and threw them together.

I thought the meta humor was decent. And it hardly used cutaway gags, which I consider a plus. <.<;

True, there weren't many cutaway gags, and I did like how both shows did get some good-natured jabs at each other.

If you're looking for the death of a Simpsons character, don't look at the crossover. And have low expectations. Major disappointment.

The crossover, on the other hand, was easily the best thing either show has taken part in in years. Rather than make blatant jokes about pop culture, they choose to get a lot more metaphorical with their humor, especially in the second half. Pretty much everything I could've hoped for from a crossover between these two shows, and

the best chicken fight you'll ever see period.

^Ugh, there's another chicken fight? That got old years ago. When's someone gonna die then? The hype on Instagram is that it was gonna be last night.

It was okay, The Simpsons was the best part of it, Family Guy kinda bogged it down.

I just watched it.

It was OK and got a few laughs out of me. It is the best thing to come from either show in a long time, but it isn't convincing me to start watching either show again.

The only parts that legitimately stood out were the Stewie and Bart ones, as they were genuinely interesting. Everything else was just little giggles here and there, mostly from the meta jokes, or uninteresting stuff that felt like padding. Also Marge and Lois got barely any screen time together. Marge actually barely got any screen time period. Which made the episode feel a little unbalanced.

It wasn't terrible or anything but I don't think I will remember it at all after a few weeks.

I think this entire scene perfectly displays why I don't like Family Guy anymore, and why I (at least used to) love the Simpsons.

^ Same with me, I was happy with the scene, finally character development in Family Guy! But then Seth killed it right at it's peak.

Also Brian is really annoying, condescending, and cruel in this episode.
CAV Platinum Sparx Gems: 6253
#32 Posted: 00:12:02 01/10/2014
^That's sort of the point. The characters have become exaggerated forms of their former selves and each of them now serve as a parody of a certain kind of person. Brian serves to be a joke of the condescending hipster liberal that thinks they know better than everyone else.

@Brawler From what I recall, a season or two ago there was an episode based almost entirely around Meg's mistreatment and her finally snapping, which was actually leading to real character development..............until Lois (easily the worst character in the show) snapped it like a twig. Even still it wasn't without impact.

The highlight of the episode for me was:

It was the ONLY time I cracked up laughing while watching the entire crossover.
