I know that most of us are different but try to best define your collecting patterns into one of the options.

I'm not sure exactly which category I'd fit in under... I guess I'm closest to your description of an "indulgent fan"?

I don't necessarily buy everything available at launch - I usually wait to see which Skylanders will be available in Adventure/Battle/Triple packs before buying any of the regular Skylanders - but I eventually end up getting every figurine except for chase variants, as one might be able to tell from the collection tally in my signature.

(I don't buy any other merchandise beyond the strategy guides, though, so I wouldn't say I belong in the "hoarder" category either.)

Hoarder, but I won't pay full price for them anymore. I also won't bother with US exclusives unless I can get them easily. These days I'm more interested in the other merchandise than I am the figures.

I guess that I'm considered a big spender. I pay full price for them, get figures on their release dates, and spend extra for chase figures/limited edition versions.

im 4 the indulgent fan, that is how i been with the released games so far. i buy all new skylanders and only get reposed if they are in the boxes of what i buy. other than that i buy the guide book and a bag to have the figures in. the 3ds version i pick up on sale later on..

i must have all new skylanders because of soul gems, i dont like to be reminded about a new skylander i dont have.

Though I guess that's just a variant of #3 but, really, I only care about the variants. Should some figures that interest not get a variant then I'll get them but my primary goal is to get variants.

I actively avoid Series+, lightcore and most variants (though I had to have the original Dark Spyro), going as far as to buying the SSF game+portal, core Jet-Vac, Wash Buckler, Blast Zone and Battle Pack pieces+figures separately in order to keep S2/3 out of my collection (only exception is Zap, due to him being my sister's favorite).

But beside that, I've gathered all 56 Cores, all 8 Giants, all 16 Swappers, all 6 Adventure Packs, the standard 4 Battle Packs, the standard 12 magic items and the Volcanic Vault. (Plus the Power-A Giants Battle Arena, where I keep the 16 SG figures, both SG Battle Packs and the original wireless portal.)

And, I've never bought anything at launch, rather waiting for deals unless it seems unavoidable.

Where is the category of "#9 - Thrifty Completionist" - go after pretty much all non-chase figures for each game to have a complete in-game collection, but don't mind waiting for the big sales on the common guys...yet smart enough to grab store exclusives at release at full price in order to avoid a possible Granite Crusher or Molten Hot Dog type sell-out...and not overly interested in investing in other Skylanders merchandise (toys, gummy snacks, clothes, etc)...also get the occasional special editions like green Gill Grunt and Best Buy Sprocket, but no big deal if you miss out on those.

I used to be number 4. But if I ever decide to carry on buying the games, I would be number 3.

Between 5 and 6. I have been 6 for SSA, SG, and SSF, but for STT I'm going to be 5.

I fit between 5 and 6.
I get all the figures as they are released, core, giants, light core, reposes, swappers, in game-variants (legendary, dark, etc), but I don't collect the "chase" variants. and i get the guide book but no other merchandise.

Probably 4! I skipped one figure of each element in giants, and I skipped the lightcores in Swap Force. Though my collection is fairly solid!

#6, I own everything that cost less than $50 on eBay, and I rarely pay over $50 for a rare figure so I don't have all of them.

Favorite version of every character from Giants and Swap Force plus a few favorite reposes. Favorite half of Spyro's Adventure plus a couple variants. Sidekicks and other items. 6 figures to go...

Was Indulgent up to SSF, now 0 not going to buy another Skylanders game ever

I'm like a 5... We have tried to get one of every character, not necessarily every figure. I try to avoid reposes but I must admit I do like variants so although I don't want two versions of a character we do have a couple.

Up to SSF I guess I was a Minimalist Fan. For STT I am a Indulgent Fan.

BIG Spender !! As for the upcoming Trap Team, I'll be the "#9 - Thrifty Completionist". Not into skylanders as much anymore..

I think I've cycled though most of these phases...Ive gone from light to extreme and now tempering back to my roots.

That would be somewhere between 5 and 6, probably closer to 5.

The point of the numbers is that higher numbers = more invested, with Big Spender being the absolute top. Also seems like higher numbers means that you're more willing to wait for good deals unless it's unavoidable.

The only reason I'm not higher than 5 is my "purist" tendencies of avoiding anything that's not the original figure, with extremely few exceptions.

Between 6 and 7. I have bought everything mostly but i look for sales or get price matches within 90 days. I do buy ebay variants but not all of them and i do have limits.

1. I buy the game and all avalible characters ( xbox version ) on release day.

2. I buy every character on release day ( using this site as a guide to know when there coming out ).

3. buy every IN-Game variant only... No chase variants

4. hunt down odd ball characters ( from IOS or 3DS version ) through Ebay and pay no more then a 5.00 mark up from what the toy would normally cost as a stand alone.

5. perticapate in frito lay or other sweepstakes as long as the character is in-game

6. open and play with all characters / keep them in a craft box of sorts / keep the cards and stickers in a card book...

I mean I got a few figures on the release of SSF. I focused on getting all the swappers and adventure packs. But for Trap Team, I'll buy it on Day 1 and continue saving until Wave 2 comes. I know Wave 2 will be hard to find down the road. I'm also going to focus on trap masters and NEVER on core packs.

This Time around I will be buying the dark starter on PS4, the normal starter on another platform and the 3ds starter. My priority is limited run figures first the pick up everything else gradually as I will be buying Amiibos and DI2.0.

I consider myself all catogories. I dont see myself in a specifick catogory.
