I was looking up the price of the trap from E3 (wanted to surprise Mcinder) but I saw some really pricey prices.

$70.00 (new)
$110.73
$99.75 (new)
$189.99


Is Riot Shield Shredder REALLY worth that much?!

This whole "data" being written onto a totem just screams "HACK ME". Not so sure that variants/villains wont be downloaded and written with same frequency and ease as movies or mp3's by talented individuals.

Plus, what if the trap needs to be reset. Does the Special variant disappear? Just like resetting a Variant Skylander that comes with Level5 and 20,000 coins, gets reset at Level1 and 0 coins

I would think once you load the trap in your game he would unlock in the menu somewhere so he can be put back on the trap as needed.

The more I think about it, the more it seems possible to write your own villains.... 1.) Make a program on pc to view data on portal 2.) connect portal to pc via usb 3.) download whatever villain you want thats already been uploaded somewhere 4.) delete data on said totem and copy / paste ( write ) new data on totem 5.) reseal said totem and sell on ebay for millions...... VIOLA! Hackers Paradise!

BTW dinoah, if you could get in trouble from activision for bags with fire bone hd on them ( jk buddy ) , imagine what a blueprint for totem fraud would do....lol

Actually, I fully expect that someone will modify the Skylanders PC Figure tool to read/write the new portal and the villain totems and allow them to be saved as a data file so people can "pass around" the rare villains freely. It's probably inevitable.

Why do you guys say things like this? Spreading false info is really lame. Look at all of the listings with bids of more than $25. $56, $53, $49.99, $31, etc. The cheapest BIN on offer is $69.99.

judging by the past, if there is a pc tool thing for trap team, itll be shut down and hated on by everyone until the person/people who makes the program runs screaming from the scene.

"shut down" refers to the legal methods used to stop a person from doing a thing. sending a lawyer to someone's door with a cease and desist letter for example. the fear of legal action from a multi billion dollar company is enough to stop almost everyone from doing something.

lets hope someone is brave enough to do it anyway. i'd help them in anyway i could. smilie
