If they had accepted Skylanders wouldn't be available on Xbox or Playstation, only Nintendo. So in my opinion, bad.

this is one of those cases where it could have either boosted the wii U or you would have seen less games in the series as a whole. it's really surprising nintendo didn't get rights when they snapped them up for pokemon. it makes you think on how the whole console wars of now would have shaped up

Taking that last ride through the sunset on skylanders. Hopefully a return of more classic spyro gameplay in the horizon.

Not surprised. Nintendo is known for not money-hatting developers/publishers. Honestly, the series is better for it.

And I'm pure Nintendo-Only.

I think that benefited the series and Nintendo to be honest. It wouldn't have as much appeal, I mean the fact the figures allow cross platform communication is (was?) a huge selling point for it. If it was exclusive, who's to say people would give a damn to spend all that money on figures for a game that only works for a specific amount of the population?

The series might've done a little worse but the majority of the audience played on the Wii, it would be another cash cow for Nintendo so they must be kicking themselves hard.

Funny how the commercials mostly advertise it for Wii/U and 3DS.

That's where the cash is at.

I don't know if I would have played it on Wii if it was exclusive to that even though I own it just because I was never a fan of the controls. I have only played it the three games on 360. Though I'd be willing to go with WiiU for Skylanders 4!

I dunno, I'm kind of surprised that games like Skylanders sell more on a Nintendo console that has plenty of similarly colorful and kid-friendly games instead of Sony and XBox consoles where they have more of a niche.

Most the commercials are for PS3/PS4 where I live.

I will probably get it for the WiiU this time.

I only got it on 360 for Swap Force because I didn't have the WiiU till xmass, I was impatient to play the game and got the 360 version. I probably should have waited.

Definately getting Trap Team on Wii U.

Console Exclusivity is always bad for the franchise but good for the console.

Skylanders certainly couldn't have been as big as it is now if they had been exclusive, even if the majority of sales were Wii.

I am glad they didn't make it exclusive on one hand, but on the other I do look at Pokemon and wonder just how it could have gone... You never know eh.
Even owning a wii and WiiU as well as 360 and PS3, I still think exclusive is bad in general. The upside is the development is more targeted if it's only on one console and it will really push that console. The Console maker also has a bigger stake in the game/franchise and is more likely to push it.

It is what it is and we shall never know a world where it is otherwise.

I play pokemon because it reminds me of my childhood. I was 7 when it got popular. But now I don't play a lot of nintendo except for pokemon. If skylanders was only on nintendo, i would have bought characters I liked just to have them. I wouldnt have bought the game or the next 2 after it, and i certainly wouldnt have put nearly as much time into it. I'm a bit of a trophy go getter, especially in the skylanders games. Nintendo does not yet offer trophys. Trophys and achievements give the game way more re play value. AND that is why I have bought SSA, SG, and SSF both on xbox, ps3 and ps4. Never on wii, wiiu or even 3ds (except for dark spyro which i bought for him, then tried to sell it but couldnt.
